Bama always get good recruiters. And Bama always gets good assistants (some good, some stellar).

This happened basically every year and people get all worked up and then a year later no one even remembers the 'loss'.

If you can't sit back and trust that Saban will successfully navigate this by now, I don't know what to tell you...

As long as Saban is on the sideline, the Tide's gonna Roll!
anyone remember the coaching turnover the last time we made the playoff championship game? Did you think it wouldn’t be worse if we won it?

Need Pruitt to somehow get out of Tennessee and still be hireable right now
With this massive ncaa investigation going on at Tennessee ... Hell no.

Strong and Scott are good enough.
Strong had 3 top 10 defenses at Florida and even a top 10 defense at South Carolina. I wouldn't be afraid of handing him the keys. Yes, I'd prefer Priutt but Strong coupled with Alabama's talent and Saban overseeing the process? I'm not sure how that could go wrong.

As far as Golding, I'd be surprised if he leaves but I was surprised when Daboll left. I'd think success would ease friction but to be completely honest I'm not sure he's better than Strong or Pruitt anyway. Strong has some up and downs but if he can do it at South Carolina I'd think he can do it at Alabama.

I say relax. Clearly not the 1st time we have lost multiple coaches in a season. Golding will be replaceable if he chooses to leave. Sark is a big deal because he was a play calling genius but Bill O'Brien seems like a pretty nice replacement. Bill O'Brien coached Tom Brady to one of his best years. Flood was good but Stoutland better O-line coach. Both NFL guys!! Losing Banks hurts but we still have 2 of the top 3 recruiters in the nation from this year (Huff and Scott). Hoping we keep them both but if not, the train will keep rolling. It has not stopped since Saban has been here.

Do you want the NCAA snooping around our campus again?

I'll believe that when it actually happens. That said, if PG makes the lateral move, it's because Saban's OK with him going (he did publicly say our defense was good but not great). And with Strong and Stoops as analysts, he has ready-made DC's in house if he wants to promote from within or his pick of up-and-comers from outside if he chooses that path.

Besides, I'd think many on this board would be delighted with the news.....
I don’t mind either way, but a lateral move? Strange.

I'd prefer Pruitt under ideal circumstances. He's still a head coach and still under investigation. That doesn't change what I think of him as a defensive coordinator.

What I was getting at is it seems like Strong could do the job just fine.

But is that not what he did when Kirby was up for the GA DC job shortly before he ended up getting the HC job? Regardless, if Saban wants to keep Goulding, then Goulding is likely staying, imo.
He may have convinced Kirby to stay, but he couldn't have stopped him if Kirby was determined to leave.

14 straight years of this and we still have people like:

PANIC
At least with some it's not panic but disappointment with Sarkisian which is really not that important as well as an honest assessment of the effects of losing certain types of coaches which matters. Sure, Saban will replace them but it's more work and sometimes it's not with comparable people. Reportedly he is upset -- there is a reason for it.

But yes, Bama will roll on, just will likely be a lot harder in Texas.

Recently, Mike Locksley has been the only one who has left honorably. At least Sark did a great job in his last game - he sure had the advantage of a wonderful roster that Saban had evaluated, assembled and developed.

Kirby wasn’t ever going to Georgia for a DC job under Richt. Saban can’t stop people from leaving
Ok, then my memory is fuzzy then.

If Bama wanted to keep guys like Flood and Banks, they would keep them. The one thing I do is that Saban always has a plan and they are always talented guys available to replace coaches that leaves. So even if Goulding leaves, Bama will be fine.
