There's only one thing I'm not totally loving about all of this, and it's a very minor thing. The hillbillies up here will go into their usual conVOLsions and be saying things like, "Pruitt learned how to cheat at Bama and that there's why come we's in trouble!"

Seriously. I can hear it now.

But do you know what? I couldn't possibly care less.
Don't worry...that's the song they will sing until the cows come home...enables them to play the blame game and not take a hard look at themselves and their program. I just about wish I was up on Rocky Top in a UT watering hole listening to them moan and groan...

What a week!!! Last Monday we win our 18th Championship and this Monday UT and Fulmer go down the tubes even more than we thought possible...

“Hello Jeremy? Derek here...Derek Dooley. Listen.. me and Lane and Butch gettin’ together for the Super Bowl in a few weeks at John Gruden’s place in Vegas.”
“Wanna come?”
“John is takin’ care of the keg, I’m bringing chips. Lane said something about his friend Joey bringing “fresh water”. Think you could whip up some of your asparagus dip?”
“And don’t mention this to Fulmer. He’ll want to come and all ever brings is a stale box of half eaten donuts....”

I just hope they nail Fulmer too. Don't let him skate away with his "retirement"
I saw part of the press conference. She was gushing all over him being such a great leader for UT for years and years. I'm paraphrasing, but it caught my attention. Like another poster wrote, if Fulmer can be proven involved at all I hope Pruitt will make it known. I lived through the Dubose years and after, and I will admit that I have no sympathy for TN whatsoever.

The problem is that Tennessee is in FULL compliance mode. They are going to reveal and tell everything to the NCAA at this point.
And I imagine Pruitt is also ready to tell everyone and anyone everything he knows.............wont end well all the way around

the view from the muzzle end of the gun isnt pleasant, but they might get to stare down the barrels

First off...I hope the Viles get everything they hoped we would get when Phat Phil was on his high-horse. I am enjoying every second of this and plan to continue.

Second...Do not think for one second that Phil will hesitate to take out a second mortgage on his soul to take down Bama, Something is coming.

Third...I can see the Gus bus heading to UTe. He has beaten Saban and will coach for cheap. In addition, Gus can recruit well enough to get UTe through this.

Fourth... Many have said it and I will as well. CJP knew the risks. I honestly do not think that the SEC is where you begin your HEAD coaching experience. It just doesn't work. In addition to that, CJP got into bed with the devil himself and is paying the price.

I do hate it for CJP but as another poster stated, I do get a Bruce Pearl vibe about him. It seems he has just been ahead of the NCAA for a while.

I don't think Krispy has anything with which he could take Bama down.............might make accusations, but that's about all he could do

If CJP would write a book about what happened there including his own failures, he would make that $12.5mm back and then some.

UTe just put themselves in an untenable position, and Karma is grinning ear to ear.

They fired Pruitt, claiming it’s for cause, in a clear attempt to avoid the buyout. Trouble is, that removed any incentive he had to keep his mouth shut. He will tell what he knows (which I’m sure is way more than UTe wants in the public domain), or UTe will pay the man.

Compounding the problem is that they fired Fulmer at the same time. Anybody who buys the administration line that Fulmer’s ”resignation” is unrelated to the internal investigation, also believes that OJ really didn’t do it, and that Mark Emmert Is competent.

Think Pruitt might know a few of UTe / Fulmer’s skeletons? So now, Pruitt sues for at least improper termination, and maybe defamation of character on top of that.

So if after firing Fulmer, and trumpeting that Pruitt’s firing is “for cause,” they negotiate a settlement to either claim, it looks like hush money. If they don’t pay him, the suit progresses with something the NCAA doesn’t have....subpoena power and testimony under penalty of perjury.

So which will be more expensive: Pruitt’s buyout, or the fallout from fighting it?

These guys are playing a game of 3-D chess with a mindset more suited to Tunk with half the deck wild. Not that that’s news to anybody here.

I think there are lots more episodes to this series.
