That just should not be a thing at this level. I don’t care what the rules are so long as they apply to everyone.WV is gone, but if we run up against another team allowed to reach in on every possession, it''s going to be a disaster. Our guys have not done well in handling lousy officiating...
I agree on that. However, I also think the anti-hand check rule is a good one...That just should not be a thing at this level. I don’t care what the rules are so long as they apply to everyone.
I agree that Baylor was allowed to use their hands too much. They are quick enough and good enough as it is, but if they are allowed to do that, it severely tilts the playing field in their direction. It is like Arkansas' old 40 minutes of hades style. They thought that one foul out of three would be called when they played aggressively, so that essentially gave their players 15 fouls to use. As you can imagine, they created a lot of turnovers that way.I’m watching Baylor do this to Wisconsin every time down the court. Wisconsin had about ten TOs (they average 8 per game) and I’ll bet every one was a result of them being allowed to hold and yank at Wisconsin on every drive to the basket.

WV was about as bad, setting up on the dribbler that way every time, instead of assuming the standard spread arms position. Of the teams left which I've seen, no one is doing it. There's some awfully loose officiating going on around the goal, though. With WV, very late in the game, when it was out of reach, it got too much for the refs and they called it twice. The WV players acted like their dog had been kicked. After a while, a sense of entitlement sets up...So, I went back and watched some of the SDS/Syracuse game and I see what you mean. What SDS was doing was absurd and we almost never see that in BBall anymore.
