Yep, this article makes it sound like the protocols are the problem, not the inspectors. At the very least, more should be fired, including Mr. Hill. If no one else is going to be fired and ArDOT changes their protocols, then maybe Mr. Frazier deserves to get his job back. If the protocols are not sufficient to see all parts of the bridge then I'm not sure any inspector is at fault. The picture on Frazier's ipad showed no crack from his vantage point (if true). If they followed protocols then how are they at fault? Wouldn't be surprise to see a law suit from Mr. Frazier in the future.

I-40 bridge set to reopen next week, Arkansas judge says, but DOT officials won’t confirm

Judge Woody Wheeless posted on his Facebook page Tuesday afternoon the eastbound lanes will reopen Sunday night/Monday morning and the westbound lanes will follow a few days later.

Wheeless didn’t share where he got the information other than to say a news release would be shared Wednesday morning.

Nichole Lawrence with the Tennessee Department of Transportation confirmed there is a reopening plan for the bridge, and details about the plan will be released Wednesday. We’ve reached out to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, but they would confirm the judge’s post.

Figg is a huge name in bridge design. I believe they did Skyway in Tampa, for example/context.

An external peer review not being performed surprises me too.
They did an external review, but after they’d started construction. Not the way you want to do things. HNTB is the project manager.
