To hear their fans, they have it in the bag..............I think they underestimate Saban
Well to be fair most here before the season were more scared of aTm than Kiffin because of how hyped up the defense was. After 3 weeks look at the state of opinions on here. Only Jess and a few are worried about aTm, and pretty much every one else is stocking up on Prilosec for next week. I think Kiffin scores a lot but we score more. It’s just hard to stop dynamic offenses.

I heard a reporter ask Nick a question in the post game presser. He asked about the Star position, that Branch played the first quarter and a half at Star , then Moore played the position the rest of the way. Nick said there was no reason, I just found it coincidental that that’s when we started having problems stopping UF! I like Branch, He is a little more physical than Malachi, while I believe Moore is better in coverage! ,

I would say this is inaccurate simply by how Golding played the chess match. It is pretty easy for 7 to block 6 or even 5 depending on whether Florida was running read option. Plus when 320 plus pounds are blocking 220 pound LBs, we are giving up 5 yards right off the bat. That is we’re we lost. If we played our true 3-4 scheme, it would have been a completely different game
I don't think we would have had to have gone true 3-4 on them, since they were still flexing enough receivers out that we would have had to have played the SAM out in the flats, but going 3-3 with the Jack on the line might have added enough extra mass in the lineup to slow stuff down, then we can alternate Anderson and Sanders at the Jack spot so they stay more fresh. They were our best two defenders Saturday by far, and taking one off the field is a bit counter-intuitive, but if they rotate enough so they can keep their tanks full maybe it helps toward the end of the game

I haven't watched A&M but it sounds like their offense just isn't much of a threat. I would hope we could handle it. It is a road game which isn't fun.

My worry with Ole Miss is that our offense isn't going to be consistent enough.

Was really impressed with Sanders at times. He's going to be a good one.

Will Anderson looks like he is insanely close to just blowing up every single play. I imagine the day will come when he has his game and just completely takes over and has a Ndamukong Suh vs Texas type of game

At this point, I'd say that's a justifiable concern. And since OM is the next big game on the schedule even more so.

The thing we thought would be the biggest concern (BY's youth/inexperience) is actually our strongest offensive foundation right now (perhaps along with the running back by committee approach we seem to be using). The OL, thought to be a strength, is a hot mess right now. The receiving core, which was thought to not be as good as recent years BUT still a strength, has been slow in development.

Take away 2nd quarter performance against Gator, Offense is consistent getting down the field. BOB just need to stop calling plays for Robinson go up the middle 3 times in a row.

The answer with the triple option was we weren't expecting it and didn't prepare for it...
Exactly. But, the question I have is why didn’t we prepare for it. Florida’s QB has struggled in the passing game, so it makes sense for a coach to adjust to that, which Mullin did. We should have been better prepared to see changes coming, and I put that squarely on Golding for the failure. This defense should be fully aware of how to counter a triple option attack. Just because they haven’t used something doesn’t mean they won’t. Hopefully, Coach Saban spends some time on how to adjust to to something out of the norm.

Because most team don't run triple options.

This is spot on. The offense had one terrible quarter and otherwise performed just fine in the most hostile environment most of them have ever played in:

First quarter (3 possessions) - TD, TD, TD
Second quarter (4 possessions) - punt, punt, punt, end of half
Third quarter (1 possession) - TD
Fourth quarter (2 possessions) - FG, punt (with 10 seconds left in the game)

I understand very few teams run a true triple option, but did we not just play a team in Mercer that did? Sure, they didn't have the athletes to run and execute it like Florida did, but the concept wasn't completely foreign. I think that's what was the most disappointing thing about it to me.

"Just need" is correct. It's impossible to prepare for everything an opponent may do. Dan actually announced his intention to return to the true spread option for 2021. Clever...

The glaring thing there to me isn’t the offensive performance (though that wasn’t stellar).

What stands out to me is 3 possessions the whole second half. That’s a function of the D not being able to get off the field and Florida mounting drives consuming clock and totaling double digits in plays.

True. And it's not as if we didn't have ample opportunities to get off the field in 3rd and 4th and long. We blew them by - "let me count the ways"...
