the guy who got shot dead in the garage/parking area was shot twice. I don’t think he was armed and video doesn’t necessarily show he was grabbing for the gun; not the video I saw, anyway.
Is there any video of the victim grabbing the gun? A close range shot would leave powder residue, no?

If this kid walks scot-free then the law is a colossal joke. Considering Trump is walking free we already knew that, though.

I don’t know - video I saw did not show him grabbing the gun but it showed him getting shot. If that’s the only video they have of that situation, that’s not self defense. By ANY stretch. But there may be another video, I don’t know.

Exactly why examiner was vague - you can’t tell from the video. But if he did grab it, it was pointed at him at the time. If he wasn’t armed, again, self defense claim is bogus.
A self defense claim does not require someone to be armed, just that you have a reasonable fear for your life.

Testimony is bogus - KR turned and fired, and he didn’t appear to be running; the other guy was running up behind him. There was no struggle for the gun when he fired from the video I saw. And what would you think KR’s pal is gonna say?
Video does not match what he’s saying, so unless there another video that I haven’t seen all of his testimony is not credible.

If you read up on it you'll see that KR's "pal" didn't know him, only met him that night.

We'll see what the jury thinks - most everyone I've seen covering this sees it as self defense now that the FBI video has been released.

I haven’t likely seen all the video, but shooting an unarmed man twice with an AR is more than self defense.

Self defense is based on opportunity, capability, and intent not the caliber of the how many times a person is shot , type of weapon, and being armed. Someone that can prove that they have reasonable fear of their life is going to win a case everytime over someone that is unarmed.

Looks to me as if the first victim had stopped as the murderer turns around and before he is shot. It is quite clear that he is not grabbing the weapon and is actually several feet away.

Sure, he had every right to be there. The kicker is: assault rifle.
He was breaking the open carry law having the gun in the first place.
I thought the guy I was talking about was shot twice; now I’m reading he was shot four times, and the fourth shot - in the back- killed him.
shooting someone in the back is self defense? Not in my world.

IDK. If someone barely over the legal BAC limit and is in an accident caused by the other driver and that driver dies, they get charged with manslaughter even though the other driver caused the accident. This kids kills a bunch of people with a gun he wasn't supposed to have. What is the difference? The argument that is would have been legal in a few months is dumb. That's like saying if the driver blew a 0.05 vs a 0.09 they wouldn't be at fault.

It's more like saying he would have blown a 0.05 in a few hours vs the 0.16 he blew at the time of the accident. So what?! At the time he wasn't legal. Period.
