Gibbs will be running back #1 and it will not be close. He is Alvin Kamara.
I was talking about literal big-bodied backs like Lacy, Henry, Bo, Najee and BRob. We don’t have anyone like that on the roster anymore. Not saying we don’t have quality backs. It just seems that we’ve moved away from recruiting that type of back.I think that was more a function of our OL than our RB's. We would run in short yardage with Jacobs in 2019, but the line would make holes
Should be interesting to watch. I wonder if we recruited him out of high school. He hits with a lot of power though…… put on some more muscle weight and he could be like a bartering ram
pretty sure Bama did recruit himShould be interesting to watch. I wonder if we recruited him out of high school.
Something strange about his season . He was week to week in October. Never saw the practice field , now he is not in school. I was really excited to see him suit up in Crimson.
More to the story? It does seem odd……… good luck to him wherever he goesSomething strange about his season . He was week to week in October. Never saw the practice field , now he is not in school. I was really excited to see him suit up in Crimson.
Strange situation. But then again, maybe not.Especially at Alabama,in which we follow and see these things and know about them when they happen...I.E...Kamara,Anoma,Alfano..etc....We see very talented kids who have some life issues, dont adjust at all to being away,or just dont fit in for whatever reason.Or suffer a terrible injury.Whatever it is.It happens everywhere. I wish the best for the young man wherever he lands and finds himself as a football player.Or even not as a player.More to the story? It does seem odd……… good luck to him wherever he goes
I think it is telling that so far he has “withdrawn from classes” and not jumped to the portal. That isn’t to say he won’t be in the portal this afternoon, or tomorrow or the next day.Something strange about his season . He was week to week in October. His 247 recruiting profile mentions it.OK Who says Kendrick Law is going to be a RB?
Yep! I agree with that. And Law may very well be a RB all the way through.Or he may be an elite Slot Receiver.Or he may not be good enough to play.Hard to say right now for sure. But I like his measurables.I am just hoping that guys like Leary,Hall, and JoJo really begin to emerge and not give their Coaches any choice but to put them out there.Same with the rookie skill guys. Should be all-out,major competition, this winter, spring, and summer. And I hope up front on both sides of the ball also. The elite guys will emerge at the top of the water, and I hope their best is brought out of them. His 247 recruiting profile mentions it.
" Put together like a running back or safety with capability to play receiver or multiple spots in the defensive back seven. Flashes springy athleticism that translates to off-the-ground bounce as a pass catcher and lateral twitch as a ball carrier. Shows excellent stop-start ability and burst out of redirection. Good top-end field speed supported by times on the track. Shows encouraging hands-catching and high-pointing abilities considering offensive snaps were split between the backfield and receiver. Finishes runs as a back and shows ability to string together moves at the second level. "
that's why I mentioned on one of the other threads that there would be some shifting around with a lot of guys as they get onto campus and the staff really gets to work with them to see where the best project. There's 4-5 guys between the ATH, WR and RB signees who will get a lot of looks at a lot of different positions.
Since he has withdrawn from classes, would he even need to use the portal?I think it is telling that so far he has “withdrawn from classes” and not jumped to the portal. That isn’t to say he won’t be in the portal this afternoon, or tomorrow or the next day.
Probably not. And certainly coaches are already aware he has withdrawn. However, the portal would definitely signal to coaches that he is still interested in playing.Since he has withdrawn from classes, would he even need to use the portal?
It seems there is more to the story, I am just not sure of all the details. I did read on another board that SMU is a place he is looking at. I hope he recovers 100 percent and does well. I was looking forward to watching him at Bama after all the hype he had.More to the story? It does seem odd……… good luck to him wherever he goes
He would if he wants to play football somewhere else. The portal is still required to switch schools if he has signed with a school.Since he has withdrawn from classes, would he even need to use the portal?
sanders had some good runs against a great Georgia d this year. I don’t think he’ll ever be a game breaker but I dunno if he would’ve even before the injury. I think he’ll be a solid number 2. I would be shocked if a fr rb would eclipse him before the halfway mark. Especially when you consider sanders can execute in pass blocking.Don't see how Gibbs isn't #1 from the outset.
Sanders needs to work on getting back to his preinjury self if thats possible.
Williams and McClellan...no idea how their recoveries are coming.
Wheaton is gone.
So I'd guess unless Sanders can heal...a freshman RB will work into the rotation at 2 or 3.
I was too, but I've given up on thinking any super-hyped RB is ever going to come in and blow everybody away on day one. Ingram didn't do it. Richardson didn't do it. Neither did Yeldon, Henry, Damien Harris, Najee Harris, Sanders or Wheaton, most of whom were 5-stars.It seems there is more to the story, I am just not sure of all the details.
