Nobody is gonna hold this Vile team under 40 with Hooker, those receivers with automatic DPI on under thrown balls and Heupels play calling.
Yeah we scored 42 offensive and 7 defensive which should’ve been enough but untimely mental errors cost us dearly.

Hey UT has a great team taking nothing away from them… our boys fought hard and had it stolen by inept refs that is it in a nutshell. BOB actually called a good game. I do agree he should have ran the ball and played for the field goal a little closer.

I think it was more than just inept refs. Did anyone notice the way they announced the false start on UT when they had 4th and inches? It was like they were saying “We have no choice but to call it.”

Ok. Lets go there. You call a decent game with some brainfarts here and there. But as an offensive coordinator you see the defense couldnt cover anybody all night. I mean they could have stood there all might and let the wr run right by them and the results would have been the same. You have the ball in fg range and its first down. U der 30 seconds left. What do you do? Oh did i mention the other team only has 2 rimeouts.

Do you A, run the ball on first down and force them to take a timeout or do you basically tell you qb to take one step and throw it out of bounds?

On second down do you run the ball or tey to pass it again, to show how smart you are? I mean even a 2 yd run runs 5 to 10 seconds of the clock.

On third down do you run the ball for 3 to 5 yds or say " gee. Im bill freaking obrian. I coached tom Brady so therefore i know more than anybody" lets pass the ball. And hope like he dbl hocky sticks a fg kicker bails me out.

I dont even think nussmeir was that stupid.

What’s really stupid is to think that was O’Brien’s rationale was to show how smart he is, or that because he coached Brady, “therefore he knows more than anyone else.” Some of the criticisms are ludicrous.

I think most of the penalty calls on alabama were technically penalties in today’s game. However, I truly believe as hard and fast as these guys have to play, penalties occur on every play if you look for them. That’s why when you have a 17:6 penalty ratio, that in itself tells me the refs are specifically looking at Alabama for these calls. And several of those calls were on HUGE plays. Not the 1st and 10 kind, but the 3rd and 4th downs when we get the TD, INT, or 1st down called back. It’s hard not to read something into that.

The Refs inserted themselves into the game and changed the outcome. I am sure that they are told on the first day of ref school that they are not suppose to do that.

And LSU held them to forty.
The only teams with a pulse they have played.

Hell Ball State only gave up 59 and the fighting zips of Akron 63.

Of course another question is what if you know your kicker is in a slump? Do you run the ball to eat clock and put it all on him with a long FG try or let Bryce try and win it for you and take the game out of WR's hands? Also, remember if you miss the FG the game goes to OT which is usually good for the home team.

Yeah next year is going to be potentially very bad unless we hire a Kiffin-style OC a la 2014. Our defense is losing a lot too. Hopefully the DC included…

This isn’t a young team. It just doesn’t make sense that we keep looking this outta sorts every week and continually get dumb penalties

The lack of discipline game after game is disconcerting………. It’s not something I thought I would ever see, but it needs to be fixed, whatever is causing it

A couple of things that came to mind while watching the game in terms of motion and delay of game penalties.

I’m beginning to think that some of the procedure penalties are due to our guys being on the LOS trying to “hold their water” while Bryce tries get us into a “perfect” call. I think that also is the reason for the delay of game calls or getting so deep into the play clock.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not faulting Bryce. He is only doing what he is suppose to do. The staff needs to get the call into him quicker. God only knows where we would be without him.

It just seems to me that we have fewer pre snap penalties when we are in a more up tempo mode and snapping the ball with 10 or more seconds on the play clock.

I think that Saban needs to call the 2012 version of Saban. That Saban does not lose these games.

So you don’t think all the false starts and delay of games that were Undisputedly called correctly factored in us losing?

It’s easy to neglect to answer the main question on which the game was lost on… both questionable calls that I see you have evaded to answer. Yes the false starts are definitely on us… illegal procedure definitely on us. But the two plays that definitely decided the game were wrong complete. So I ask again how does an under thrown ball with the reciever falling back into the defender constitute PI and why was the flag so late and where and when was it thrown, how does a ref looking straight at the hold on our reciever ignore it…
