I don't know, it looks like they are getting pushed around and are not physical. In fact, the whole team looks smaller and not as physical since Coach Cochran left.
Yards after contact for their RBs tonight was a factor...they were met at the line yet got 5-8 yards at times carrying multiple players with them...thats toughness

Did you watch the game? Hooker wasn’t taking a 7 step drop and trying to throw. He gets rid of the ball. CNS and Pete did the mush rush to try and keep Hooker from taking off outside. Don’t get me wrong, Jeremy is the best DC of the CNS era because he grew up in his younger days at Hoover when he had to defend this new offense every day in practice. UT will beat UGA because Kirby would still get in the fetal position to this day when trying to defend malzaughn crap at au. When Jimbo beat au and Gus, who was his dc?
Yes I watched the game and our pass rush didn’t exist. That simply can’t happen. There is not an OL in the country that can block the Cheetah Package consistently. Our secondary was horrible in this game.

The only person that knows the answer is Saban. We have 4 and 5 star players 3 deep on the defensive side of the ball, so the Jimmys and Joes are there. So the problem must lie with the X's and O's and that is coaching. So if I keep going down this path I have to say that logically if we see this then coach Saban does too.
So if he sees it and hasn't made a change at DC (or OC), why not? That is scary. You know what is more scary, maybe Saban doesn't see it as a coaching issue?
But who does Saban go after as DC?

I hope that you are right, but next year might be brutal. Who replaces Bryce and Gibbs, the only 2 guys keeping games close this year.
You could...and did say this last year about Metchie and Jamo. The year before about Mac, Najee, and Devonta. It works itself out with our recruiting. We can't expect "generational" talent more often than once in a generation. Every other year we just javelin to deal with 5 star talent coached by our coaches...some years better than others.

I challenge you to show a specific example of this. This sounds like a bunch of fan sour grapes crap. I offer Wil Anderson's interview as my evidence as everything you just said is pure BS.
An Alabama player tried to play hero ball on a punt play at the end of the first half. That kid cannot care about anyone but himself for even trying that crap. That is a symptom of the rot that a lot of folks are talking about.

Could you imagine what blitz packages Jeremy Pruitt would have with this defense. I'm not sure Golding has more than 3 different blitzes and thinks he can only call each one once during a game.
Pruitt doesn’t have a show cause against him………. Not sure Bama would ever take a chance on him, but I believe he would beat the product sent out there tonight

I'm 90% sure he thought the ball had been touched by the return man, and was trying to jump on it because it was the right thing to do, not because he was out for personal glory. That was the way it looked to me, and it's also what the national broadcast announcers thought. Obviously, I have no way of knowing for sure.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Deere lowered.

A young man, not even playing professionally yet, made a mistake. They tend to do that in every, damn, game.

You need some perspective man. "Rot." These are still kids, dag blast it.

Here is my problem with the “refs costed us” crowd. We commit tons and tons of penalties, and while Tennessee got some home cooking it doesn’t change that we committed and have been committing alot of penalties. We are more of a Marc Richt Team and less of a Nick Saban team. Teams that commit this level of penalties rarely win championships.

You are correct. This is very clearly a trend, and a trend of undisciplined play.

The annoying thing about the refs today was not really the majority of the calls they made. It was the borderline ticky tack calls on us while letting Tenn get away with murder. 3 headshots on Bryce and they didn’t throw a flag for a single one. One they even waved off despite him taking a helmet to the face.

Every borderline call that could benefit Tenn was made. Every borderline call that would have benefited us was ignored. Their immediate whistle blowing one of our forced fumbles dead for no reason is a prime example. Meanwhile the back judge ref thought about throwing a PI flag for about 20sec on our last int. It’s incredibly frustrating to watch an unevenly called game, even when we did obviously commit more procedural penalties than Tenn did.

And it's nothing new. The secondary has been getting torched by good QBs for years. But now, we are getting out-matched physically upfront.
At Texas and today it seems to me that the staff was out schemed on both sides of the ball. Tennessee can't be so strong as to run the ball off the edge at will and torch the defensive backs for virtually the entire game yet that is exactly what they did.
