I hate to look forward to the postseason but do y’all think Bryce and Will plays in the bowl game?
For some players, their post-season games can really benefit them. Jerry Jeudy’s play against Michigan a few years ago is a good example - it made him some money.

I can’t imagine that playing in a bowl game could benefit Will or Bryce in any way.

I think with Golding it’s a tosh situation. Don’t want to lose your top recruiter and he’s a somewhat wanted commodity so you give him the DC position hoping for the best. Only difference is I think Saban believes in Golding and tosh was a kinda well heck situation.

People vilified Scott Cochran when he left, like he was some idiot that was dragging down our program. Looks like that might not have been the case.
When Rhea and Ballou camein 2020 soft tissue injuries dropped by half and we were still dominant. Maybe it was a perfect combination of Cochran brute strength with Rhea & Ballou science. Well, Rhea has left and there's a definite downtown in our ability to dominate the lines.

I’ll never question Coach Saban’s competitiveness. I just wonder about whether he has fortitude and energy to do what he knows he’ll need to do get the job done. It is one thing at age 51 or 61. He turned 71 on Monday.
Pruitt is unemployed.

if Saban has the fight in him he can pretty much fix this defense overnight.

Edit: I also think this is the one thing that could push Saban into retirement. If he is ready to make the moves he needs to, but the AD blocks him he might just say ok fine then I'm done. But I don't think when it comes down to it Byrne won't call his bluff. He'd give in to Saban's demands.

Just saw video of them storming the field. Someone tried to get in Saban's face and a State Trooper was having none of it. You could hear someone in a crimson colored jacket cussing at the security to get the people off the field and do their job.

That's probably because for the first time in 15 years the same problems are plaguing us for multiple years. When Nussmier sucked - Saban kicked him to the curb. For multiple years Golding has sucked big time, yet Saban stands by him. For two years, BoB has been awful, but Saban sticks with him.
This is something new. The whole fan base sees it. And we are all hoping the GOAT does too...and does something about it.
That is what is the problem. Our beloved coach doesn't seem to care that the team is not playing to the beloved "standard" he preaches. Yet the same crappy coaches are still getting huge paychecks just because they can recruit. Georgia has the same number of great recruits, and just blasted Tenneesee
We can't beat a crappy LSU team. It's coaching people and it starts with the head man.

At this point, what in the world is going to change ? Nothing. If Coach Saban and his staff could discern the problems and the solutions, they would do so and implement changes. Other than Coach Bryant, Coach Saban my be the very best in college football history but we really aren’t seeing that this year. I hope we can finish out with a respectable record for the seniors…… they deserve no less.
I think that's what bothered me the most all season.

Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results!

Honestly, I expect nothing to change for the rest of the season. I don't think the OC and DC have the ability to change and CNS has shown nothing so far that suggests he will make them.

Is there a record for most times an opponent has stormed the field after beating you in one season? If we lose to ole miss that’ll be 3 in one season. Can’t imagine that’s happened more

I think Saban is too much of a competitor to let this stand.

He sees what Kirby just did running a defense based off of his. He sees what's becoming of the dynasty he built. I think Saban is really at this most dangerous when he's kind of backed into a corner.

Look at the worst years he's had then look at what happened after. 2010's 3 loss team lead to two consecutive championships.

In fact, of the six previous times Saban has lost multiple times (since 2008) at Alabama, 4 have lead to championships. It's actually the best indicator of future success, as he's only won a championship twice without a multiple loss team the previous season.

This is only the second time (ignoring the 2007 season) Alabama won't follow up a multiple loss season with a championship, and I think the big mistake here was he wasn't as willing to make drastic changes. I think that will change...
If so, changes should have come after last season. Anyone with a modicum of football sense saw we were living on a thread.

Let me be clear about something: I’m not ready to kick CNS to the curb. But Coach Saban has always said if it got the point where he could not get players to do what he needed them to do, play the way he needed them to play, he would “head to the lake”.

Coach Saban has done enough for this University and this program that he deserves to make that decision on his own. He is owed every bit of that respect because he has earned it. And he will always have it from me.

I'd agree, but to play devil's advocate I think Saban felt they were a couple injuries away from a championship and with Bryce he didn't want to risk blowing that up.

In his defense, there was no reason to think the defense with all the returning talent would actually regress. It's a testament to Golding's incompetence that he's managed that.

He is. The man is tired and frustrated. He is basically saying if they are undisciplined, poor fundamentally, and not performing, it is on him and the staff.
This isn’t about poor execution. It is about coaching. And he is finally saying it.
If there's anything that gives me hope, Coach looked angry in that clip when he discussed it. I was afraid he was going to be dejected but he seemed hot instead. I'm hoping that means he's still got the fire in his belly to stick around and make the necessary changes...

To think in 2019 I got put in timeout for questioning the reason we dropped a high level outside linebacker in coverage against LSU to this? Wow. CNS doesn’t care? Lord.

Receivers - there's plenty of accumulated stars there, but no one who inspires confidence they will make the clutch catch.

Secondary - I'm impressed by Kool Aid. That's really it. I know it's a sacred cow to mention "in phase" but our DBs simply don't turn around in time and haven't for years. Watch Ringo on the int today, he was tracking that ball like a receiver. We would have probably picked up a PI there. Something needs to change. We got DB alums in the pros playing better than they did at Bama.

Larry Bird had that innate ability to make just the right play at the right time. The '22 Tide has the uncanny ability to make the wrong play at the worst time. Give up 3rd and 7 on a running play where the back breaks contact early ? Yep. Drop key passes ? Yep. Penalties ? Yep.

Something isn't right with this team. The scary thing to me is we heard good things about their attitude and approach during the offseason. Just so mentally fragile, it appears.

I cannot understand rushing the field against the team. We're an average SEC team at this point.
Maybe it's just BOB and his scheme, but this looks to be a very mediocre group of receivers, i guess i got spoiled watching Julio, Cooper, Jeudy, Smith, Ruggs and Williams.
We don't even have a Maze or Kevin Norwood right now, frustrating.

Realistically Saban's scheme (you know the same one Georgia runs) and the talent Alabama has (Alabama is loaded on defense) should be able to produce a stop when the game is on the line.

This entire year Young has been bailing Golding's mediocrity out. It isn't that it's always terrible, but it's not nearly as great as it should be either. They're giving up almost twice as many points as Georgia. That's not ok!
Paging Jeremy Pruitt, please…🤞

I do think it’s the scheme. His routes are so vanilla. He does nothing to get his playmakers the ball in space. We haven’t run a screen pass all season. Tried to run one in the second half and it was the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. Barely any drag routes and RB routes. Gibbs has touched the ball a fraction of the amount of time he’s needed to.
