I was frankly devastated as a fan when he left for Texas.
Same.....when CNS was out with COVID for that Iron Bowl game and he left Sark to do the HC duties, I foolishly assumed that this was a peek at the Coach in Waiting kinda deal. But you can't turn Texas down. It's a Blue Blood program in a talent rich location with seemingly unlimited resources.

I completely agree, but until someone (whether Sark can do it or someone else) is able to remove the booster influence and power on that program, I don't think the program will reach its full potential.

I think will Healy will do a great job..... successful offenses wherever he went even his first year of coaching offense... Played at Richmond for Dave Clawson as quarterback

Is the OC that some are recommending the current OC at Austin Peay?

About to get a look at him then!

no sir he was let go from Charlotte about two weeks ago... but he ran Austin Peay and won the Eddie Robinson coach of the year award in 2017... but he has a blend of RPO zone read and pass happy option offense

Registered 11/6 - is that you, Will? ;)
nope... but look at his body of work... and he has personality something sorely needed on Alabama offense... I remember when we played him Saban was concerned about his offensive style...

Definitely Riley as OC would be my first call. Young, innovative play caller. If not him then definitely Phil Longo

As far as DC, my first call would be to Glenn Schumann. He graduated from here and was here for 8 years (last 2 as Director of Player Development and Associate Director of Player Personnel). Co-DC at Georgia now, and if that doesn't work, kick tires on Jim Leonhard and see if he's interested in moving south
This is my favorite combination of hires I've seen theorized. Would make a ton of sense.

Sark was at an entirely different and better level than BOB. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a toy car. BOB's calls are so easily predictable, and there's never any deception in play design.
No question he's been our most creative OC under CNS.

Other than watching the Bama/UT game back in September, I really don't know much about what's going on out there. I know they are 6-3 and have TCU looming.

I wonder how the PTB in Austin feel about the situation. What if they lose to TCU and kinda fizzle out this year. OR, if next year, they lose to Bama in T-town and have another mediocre year?

FWIW, only way he ever coaches at Bama again is to come back after CNS leaves, but if he succeeds at UT I don't think he'd consider it. If he's not, would we want him to take over for CNS?

It's very possible that the constant involvement of the boosters down there could make him strongly consider Tuscaloosa anyways...

As to things that pertain to Jeremy Pruitt, no he doesn’t have a “show cause” at present. UT has received its NOA from the NCAA but a show cause for Pruitt or others involved would not handed down until the final ruling is delivered. That said, you can just about bet the mortgage one is coming. JP is radioactive right now. I can’t see any scenario where he lands even as an analyst right now.

in terms of length, most times the “show cause tag” is one to five years, depending on the severity of the situation/sanctions. As example, Pearl was hit with three years for his recruiting violations and lying to the NCAA. Kelvin Sampson was tagged with five years.

Given a program at UT hit with 18 allegations of level 1 violations, Pruitt is probably staring at a 3-5 year show cause.
