Long but overall satisfying day today.

I went to my precinct at 7am and after a short wait in line was done by 7:30.

Took Mom to her precinct around 12:30pm and everything went great!

My precinct is at the civic center next to the shuffleboard courts.

Seebell even made an appearance! :D

Got to meet these two rescue girls......they were TOTAL sweethearts!

Mom's precinct was at the golf course at Sugar Mill.

The problem goes beyond the politicians and straight to the people who vote for them without an ounce of accountability in mind.
Well unfortunately, most of the time they have the "lesser of the two evils" choice.

That is where we are.

You and I (and hopefully others here too) have done our part in being classified as NPA voters.

IMHO, anyone who supports either party at this point is just funding the syndicate....pure and simple.

I don't really see anything changing either, sadly.....

Not that I believe there really is a lesser of two evils here, but at the end of the day, a vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil. The only reason I voted is because this is the first election year since we got married and when my wife found out I had no intention of voting, she hit the roof. (I don't know if you've ever tried to calm down an angry Latina, but it is a HELL of a lot harder than you probably think.) So I promised to vote and I have the sticker to prove it. She won't care that I voted Libertarian all the way down; she will be satisfied that I did my civic duty.

Good for you! She sounds like a good woman. You best better hang onto her - and treat her right!

I've had Latina girlfriends and they are amazing in so many ways.

I do believe we all need to vote - if only to show the politicians we are engaged and we matter.

And for the record, I'm a live and let live person regarding political matters.

Vote for whomever you want.

It's a free country.....:)

As an independent with no party affiliation I was proud to vote straight down the line for democrats for (probably - can't remember for sure about '92) the first time in my life.

Democrats are often misguided and ineffectual, but the GOP is down right dangerous.

Same here - don’t know if I’ve ever done that before. If I did, it was way back when I was a Democrat, 30+ years ago.
But honestly, it may be the last time I ever vote. Aside from the disillusionment from both parties being hopelessly corrupt, beyond the fact that a handful of people decide who we get to vote for and they’re almost always inept or corrupt, and besides the fact that nothing ever changes for the good (on balance - when something good happens seems like two or three bad things tag along) no matter how I vote, we probably won’t be around for the next election. Yes, I know citizens can vote overseas but I’m not going through too many changes to do it; we’ll probably be somewhere far away from the ability to do it without a lot of effort. The hatred is almost equal to the apathy, and frankly I’ve had my fill of both.

I voted absentee because I thought I'd be out of town for work today. Turns out I was in town. I drove past my polling station a couple times and the parking lot was crowded.

Republicans will win every spot on my ballot and it won't even be close. B

My wife is the best thing to happen to me since my first wife died in 2012. I know she’s special since she can convince me to vote in a time when I don’t believe it matters and she can even get me into church with her even though I’m agnostic. She’s got a spell on me for sure! 😉

The state Treasurer of Alabama (running again today) is Young Boozer III. His dad was a roommate of Paul Bryant.
