Auburn is not expected to make a formal offer to Hugh Freeze until after Saturday's Iron Bowl game, sources told ESPN, but the sides have informally discussed a contract for weeks.

As for Franklin or Freeze, both are sleeze bags. You will recall the rape incident at Vanderbilt just before Franklin bolted for PSU. A coed was raped by 3 Vanderbilt players. Franklin and one of his assistants met with the girl trying to get her to recant her version of the rape. The 3 players were found guilty and IIRC are all serving 25 years. Franklin and his assistant escaped to State College, PA. I would contend that is more egregious than paying for escorts or paying players. I would never want to see Franklin in the SEC again.
Unfortunately “The Beard of Defensive Knowledge” will still be our DC past signing day, if not longer. Leonhard will be gone by then.

No - if he goes he did his job there and would still walk away from Wisconsin in a second if the OSU job opened up. It is probably a necessary step if he ever wants another shot at the OSU job.

Fickell will make Wisconsin a major thorn in the sides of Michigan and OSU. I think he is an excellent head coach that gets everything out of the talent he has and he will def be able to get better talent at Wisconsin than Cincy.
Also, he will be playing in the Big 10 West. Go look at that division. At this point, it's a joke. He will have a legit shot at winning the division every year. Then you just have to get through OSU, Mich, or PSU to have a real shot at the playoffs. It's a good job at a football first school where your division is very winnable.

Both schools go on about with their business quietly without any fanfare or media hype etc. they get quality coaches with no baggage or shenanigans AND YET auburn is a circus again!!!
As a Bama fan, it makes my heart happy and fuzzy during the holidays knowing that the cult has a losing season, no bowl game, no extra 15 practices, and losing 3 in a row to their most hated rival while having major angst trying to find a new coach within 3 years!!!
