I don't know if you have PTSD or what when it comes to BOB... I feel for you my brother, but he's not coming back. BOB is 1000 percent gone. :) I feel like I tell you this every week. BOB doesn't want to come back. Saban wants to go back to physical football. Patriots wants him back. now that NSD is over, I expect Saban to continue to focus on the game until 31st but expect to make hiring at OC sometime in Jan...Technically, Playoff starts Saturday January 14. I expect BOB to go to Patriots around that week.

As for DC,
I don't mind if he stays on 1 condition that Saban hires someone to help Golding with playcalling. Pruitt would be perfect for that. Together they can do some serious damage on the field.
A little louder for those in the back!

Unfortunately, I am in total agreement with Padre's post. Sadly this would be the perfect opportunity to move on without Golding, but I just cannot see CNS terminating him.
Since Saban seems to like Golding and he is a very good recruiter/players seem to love him... then pay Golding the same and let him do something else other than be DC/ILB coach, but still let him be able to recruit.

Usually doesn’t work quite like that. Golding would regard it as a demotion which leads to a hurt ego. Even if he agree and stayed it’s hard to make it work. Best to cut the cord and move on.

I don't think Golding is going anywhere. So we'd better get a very good OC to compensate for our defensive ineptitudes.

Could Pruitt be hired for an on the field role? I mean with what happened at Tennessee.

Most Definitely a new strength and conditioning coach for both offensive and defensive line strength and development

Since Golding's pre-Alabama experience was coaching the secondary and we have just lost Charles Kelly who coached the safeties; move Golding to coaching the safeties and hire a top tier inside linebacker coach. Just a thought.
correct...Golding was known for developing secondary players... I can't understand why Saban put him in a fish out of water position.... but of course Pruitt was known for secondary as well until he took over Florida State Defense

I wouldn't put too much stock into that. BOB is expected to continue to do his job until he is no longer under contract and recruiting is a part of it.
I know this was from a couple of weeks ago, but to further that argument, Nick Saban gave a Miami state of the team address a couple of days before it was announced he was leaving for Alabama . He would expect no less of his assistants.
