Injuries and the Okie defense didn’t do Lebby any favors this year either. When opponents are going through Ted Roof’s defense like the proverbial “tin horn”, sometimes your offense game plan goes out the window.
Somehow, Ted Roof and defense seem to be mutually exclusive.

Aaron Suttles said prior to the announcement that Bill O’Brien will return to the Patriots CNS met with an offensive coach that Bama fans might not be excited about. So, this coach may be someone flying under the radar and not one of the prominent names being mentioned. I know CNS has traveled recently on recruiting trips. He could have possibly met with someone on one of these trips. Coach has surprised us in the past and he may do it again.

Dude, now seems media is throwing around names for clicks. Andrew Zow?

I can’t even believe somebody wasted their time on this. I’ve been around Zow a few times and he seems like the nicest guy in the world…..but he’s not much of a coach. He was a subpar HC in high school, and he was forced out at Bessemer City after 8 months for rule violations. I forget the name of the school but seems like I remember him being somewhere else for only a couple months and there’s some questions about what happened there. I know for a fact when he was at my Alma Mater he got a phone call from another coach in the area and was basically told to cut the crap or get reported. Long story short… he cheated and still wasn’t very good.

This is from OU Board:

OP on TFB regarding Lebby:

***Last week, I noted that Lebby’s name began to resurface as a candidate for the Alabama job.

***I’ve continued to talk to folks about this and the latest I’ve heard is that Lebby is a “prominent candidate.” One source went as far to say he is at or near the top of the list.

***If Lebby were to be offered, I’m still unable to get a sense of how interested he would be but I did speak to someone close to him who said, “it’s Nick Saban. You have to hear him out.”

***I did ask someone on the OU side about what might happen with Jackson Arnold, in case Lebby was offered the Alabama job and decided to take it. As I expected, source was confident that Arnold would remain at OU.

***Also, a bit of a Twitter note but it was brought to my attention that Lebby recently followed the Alabama quarterback commit, Julian Sayin. I did call someone close to Sayin who said, if Lebby decides to recruit Sayin to OU, it’s not likely to have any impact. Source said Sayin and his camp have known for a while that O’Brien may be leaving and their commitment to Alabama was made to and because of Saban. So, as long as Saban is there then, he’s not likely to look anywhere else.

***Lastly, I want to reiterate that we have been told Joe Brady is also a candidate and I am told he is interested in the job. Another name I previously mentioned was that of Dan Mullens. And, this morning I was told that last week Saban had a quiet meeting with another candidate but source could not name the candidate.

***With O’Brien gone, I imagine this shouldn’t take too terribly long.

They are running out of news so they are creating it.
Well comparing Stephen Smith and “Touchdown Alabama” to “”media” is like comparing me to Brad Pitt. The similarities begin and end with both of us being “male”.

Love this piece of writing:

“A dark horse name – via sources – has been communicated to Touchdown Alabama as a potential candidate if he is inquired about the job”.

The guy is a joke.

In this morning’s Birmingham News, Joseph Goodman had an interesting idea I hadn’t seen put forward (and no, I can’t believe I just typed that).

DeMeco Ryans as DC and HC in Waiting.

I’m not sure I like that, but only because the Head Coach In Waiting thing seems like a good idea in theory, but hasn’t worked well in practice. In fact, off the top of my head, I can’t think of a single time that it’s worked at all.

If he gets an NFL HC job and succeeds in it, I could, however, see DeMeco as Saban’s successor.
This would be a dream scenario. It's too bad that it just couldn't ever work that way.

I have been wrong many many times before, but DeMeco seems like a surefire grand slam of a HC some day very soon. He has overachieved at every single level he's advanced to.

I can’t read this without hearing it (inside my head) spoken with the awkwardly brutal inflection that he uses when he talks 😂

Hopefully this will get done soon. Golding and BOB were not a good match as coordinators.
Both had flaws and neither were strong enough to cover up the other side of the ball.
We were OK with Golding when we had Sark as we had a dynamic offense to cover
up Goldings flaws on defense.

I may have heard it wrong but according to the NFL Network (as of today) the Chargers are scheduled to interview Joe Brady. Granted, it doesn't mean he is out of the running for our OC, but it is competition.
Yeah and it seems to be pretty well accepted that Brady wasn’t a big fan of the “recruiting part of the college game” from his time at LSU.

I believe this is the second time CNS is making a run at Lebby. The first time was at Ole Miss two years ago when we hired BOB IIRC. Think this will be a tough pull, but it could be Lebby feels he has “hitched his horse to the wrong wagon” with Venables? I think some of it may depend on how much leeway Lebby feels CNS will give him in running “his offense”.
CNS will say it's "Bama's offense" he'll be running, but if Lebby has paid attention (based on the changes from Sark to BOB) he can run whatever he wants and call it "Bama's offense."

Some thought that could be Mullen, but based on the latest reports it's not. Makes me wonder about the OC from Wake Forest that was mentioned as a possibility.

It would be "shocking" if CNS found someone under the radar especially if his top picks don't materialize.

Do y'all remember how you felt when you first heard that Byrne hired a guy named Nate Oats to be the next basketball coach??? I remember saying to myself, "What??? I've never heard of him!"
