I've been reading up on Grubb bigtime this morning.

Here's all the Crazy Big improvements he made to Washington's Offense in One Season from 2021 to 2022

Scoring Offense - 107th to 7th
Total Offense
- 115th to 2nd

Passing Offense
- 72nd to 1st
Rushing Offense
- 125th to 69th

1st Downs
- 108th to 1st
3rd Down Conversions
- 26th to 1st

Sacks Allowed
- 36th to 2nd
TOP
- 101st to 31st

I mean just WOW dude.

Ryan Grubb might be exactly the guy who can undo and fix everything that BoB did to our offense.

This from On3's Clint Lamb on Grubb:

Quick thoughts on Grubb that I'll be expanding on later:
  • QB development - We've seen Michael Penix Jr. be efficient before in 2019, but Grubb got the most out of him. He became a much more consistent player in 2022 (and did a better job of taking care of himself in order to stay healthy). For those comparing him to Jalen Milroe, I actually believe he's a little closer to Ty Simpson than Milroe. Good mobility, is able to create off-script and has good processing skills, but he's not the type of QB you'd run 20+ times in a game. The QB development goes beyond Penix though. I loved what he did with Jake Haener at Fresno State, too.
  • Flexible offensive approach - Doesn't limit himself to one offensive style. Does a nice job of building around his talent/QB and providing a Tailor-made offense to put his guys in the best position to be successful. We talk about bringing balance back to the offense. Well, I really like how much Grubb improved in this area at Washington. I thought he did a much better job integrating his running backs into the offense. The Huskies didn't have a dominant ground game or anything, but I think his willingness to adapt made a big difference -- and would continue to make a big difference in Tuscaloosa.
  • No experience in the SEC - One drawback that's at least worth mentioning is that Grubb doesn't have any experience in the SEC. South Dakota State, Sioux Falls, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State and Washington don't come anywhere close to the conference footprint. Is that a concern? Eh, maybe, but I think Alabama's program pretty much sells itself at this point.
  • Other notes - This guy will shift and motion you to death. If you had a problem with Bill O'Brien being too vanilla at times, then you'll love Grubb. He'll have a defender's head spinning before the ball is even snapped. Plus, he's a willing learner from what's been reported in the past. He isn't stubborn in his approach. I think that's an excellent mindset to bring.

This was from paid site. You have to be careful about doing stuff like that.

Interesting.... If we do that, what does that do to QB room at Alabama? Milroe would likely transfer.
Don't see that happening with Penix, who's already having transferred once (from IU where he was a three-year starter) and having also dealt with injuries throughout his career at Indiana that prevented him from playing a (relatively) complete season until 2022.
