Yea that’s not going to cut it in sec play but neither will this line or milroe. Milroe does not see the field or go through progressions.
I can at least say that on the play Ty got sacked first on it was a 7 man pressure. He looked right it was one on one but not really all that open he looks to the mid and got hit from the blind side from someone unblocked less than 3 seconds for him but he was going through progression. Now he needs better pocket awareness for sure but that in itself is an improvement from milroe. He also should get a better sense of the pocket the more experience he gets.
Something that is kind of overlooked a lot but he also had two throw aways. I would rather see that than forcing an interception or taking the sack. Now he took his share of sacks but as he senses the pocket better he can bail or throw it away.

To me the pass to dipre is the single best pass of any QB this season. That’s a high level throw if it is hit consistently. It was on a rope right on target. Nobody else on this team has shown they can make it but him. Milroe might have some that have been further or for a td but as far as pure pass that was the best one of the season so far.
Good stuff. If they do decide Ty is the guy I think they need to cut him loose. This game manager stuff isn’t going to get it done. If Golding knows he’s just going to dink and dunk it’s going to kill the running game and make it that much harder on him. He’s been here two years, let’s take the training wheels off and let him go.

I think that some members of Jalen's family are now posting on TF. ;)
I don't know nothing turns out a fan base like a qb battle. You should see the chatter on twitter and facebook. They are even talking about it on tick toc.

Side note man wish we had a Michah Parson on our line. He is killing the Jets oline.

I don’t want to pick a fight. He has started 3 games. Does anyone honestly think we only only score 17 points today if he started his 4th game? Also go back to what I said about scheme. If he struggles reading a defense then make the game and the read easier for him him by giving quick safe throws and picking your spots for chunk plays later in the game. My 2 cents.
That’s all great until we play level competition, then it’s turnover city with that guy.

One thing that I keep seeing is Milroe fans saying “go to an RPO he can’t be expected to read like Brady”. Okay… so y’all readily admit he can’t read a traditional offense, but y’all want him to make 6-7 reads in a second? RPO is alot harder to learn than a traditional offense and it’s insane that that is always the default answer by fans for a struggling quarterback with legs.

Simmer down folks. Yesterday was horrible, and I almost cried for the wrong reasons. I think yesterday we hit the rock bottom, and maybe we needed that for a reason. I really think Saban started TB just to prove point to several people, and I also think He held Milroe out so He can put all efforts into reading a defense in two weeks so that he can improve and I think he will. My gut feeling is that we'll see a different football team this weekend.

He is real good at RPO. He's deadly in RPO... he needs RPO offense to fit him.

I should probably read the whole thread but I think I see how this is already going.

Mac Jones says hold my beer. He want you to know those 2 pick sixes he threw against Auburn in 2019 were the ugliest. But he bounced back and had a great 2020.
Not the same at all. If you say they are you are just blinded to reality IMO.

lI do not wish bash any of our players. They all work hard and I respect them for that. It was clear today Buchner isn’t the answer. Ty is a better passer. Milroe gives us the best chance. How many times did Ty get sacked today? Again some of those end up being positive plays because of Milroe‘s athleticism. Experience and scheme are what we are lacking.
Here's the difference. TS was dropping back and looking for receivers. JM didn't take the time to look.

Two different situations.

If we want a QB who can run, JM is our guy, but we won't have a short to midrange, first down producing offense. It's run or bomb.

I'm not sure TS is going to be great, but at least he showed he was willing to stand in the pocket. He got nailed in the blind side a couple of times and didn't fumble (don't know how) and the other times it was just pressure straight up the middle (a reoccurring problem this year).

I think our offense hit a low point yesterday and I'm not sure JM would have been any better yesterday either.

The knee jerk reaction is to go back to JM. I still don't think it's the best option for improving our offense to be better at all phases.

That’s because they’re casuals and don’t understand football.

look do I think there are systems best designed for his talent… yes. But it ain’t here and he ain’t magically going to resemble anything like the 2018 offense the second we go to RPO like many people saying it believe. Just because Gus simplified a complex scheme to make Nick Marshall effective in 2013 doesn’t mean it’s going to work 9 times out of 10 when you try it, AND it ignores that Auburn had an elite runner in Trey Mason that kept everyone honest. We are week 4 and Jalen Milroe is still our best running back and it alternates between week who is the 2nd.

If we go that way then you better expect alot of blitzes because until Milroe shows that intermediate ball nothing effectively changes defensive coordinator’s list of worries about an offense ran by Milroe.
