Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

But why not?

If he's the best QB, why not play him Sat.???

If CNS is playing games and he just wanted to show everybody Buchner or Simpson is not the answer then he's messing with the player's heads.

None of this makes sense!
Idk I don't think Saban would do that to tell fans to shut up. I think it was likely they wanted to give Buchner and maybe Simpson a chance in live action.

I could see it also being something along the lines to motivate Milroe but I don't believe it would be that alone.

I've just seen the one soundbite. Did he give any explanation as to how they reached this conclusion?

It's got to be based on the fact they forgot to evaluate the Texas game, right?

Here's a thought I had about this. Maybe CNS is trying to light a fire under JM. I'm sure y'all remember 2015 when CNS started Cooper Bateman against Ole Miss. Bateman didn't play well and then Coker came in and played like his hair was on fire. Coker won the team over that day, even though Bama lost. Coker improved throughout the rest of the season. Maybe CNS did the same thing on Saturday with JM.

That's dated Sept. 18, bro.

But there's other tweets now and saw CNS's announcement.

This is just real sad.

He earned the right to start by sitting on the bench???

And Ty Simpson had to deal with the crumbs of Saturday's game, helps the team to victory and dosesn't even get a chance to start the next game???
I think Milroe showed the best leadership of all.. Simpson should be no. 2 on depth chart.

I honestly don’t even care anymore. I have more important thing to do on the weekends than watch us lose 4 more games.
All we can do is watch if we want to. I have no clue what's going on, and never did really. I'm not a coach or former player.

I'll hope for the best. Lane has already overloaded his yapper going into the Alabama game again. Let's see how things turn out.

If Simpson is giving a chance wouldn't he be allowed to start a game like Milroe and Buchner???

I'm really struggling to understand why the staff thought Buchner could be the answer.

Simpson has to come off the bench to clean up that mess and he gets what? Passed by the guy who was presumably the #3 guy last week.

I've never seen such a discombobulated mess.

This is absolute BS. If I’m Ty Simpson, I’m transferring TODAY.
I don't Ty Simpson has been given a chance. He may have only had 9 pass attempts Saturday, but he played well in his small amount of time. He passed for over 8 yards per pass attempt and the offense responded well to him being at the helm. I would love to see what he could do with some more time with the 1st team offense.

i think a lot of fans (and sports media) are projecting all sorts of stuff on a "messy" qb battle

Yep. There is obviously a large portion of the team that just doesn’t like him…for whatever reason. It’s honestly not fair to him.

Probably best case scenario.
