Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

I will support whomever lines up for Alabama and cheer for them just as hard as I did for Kitchens, Bateman, etc. My alma mater. They deserve my support. However, because they are getting paid, in some cases a whole lot of money, I feel more inclined to criticize.

And, the way defensive lineman and blitzers are finding their way into our backfield, all of the QBs better be ready to go.

Trust me, I have never wanted to be wrong so much in my life.

I'm not sure why you think it is "incredible" when you yourself stated you didn't like what you were hearing coming from your sources and you've greatly lowered your expectations. My guess is what you're hearing is probably worth having a meltdown.
It is incredible to me because no matter what we do with QB at this point, it's not going to be fixed until we get our OL and DL issues straightened and then at that point, we'll know the seriousness of the QB situation. Kevin hart said, "Laugh at my pain" This is the theme right now, laugh because it could get worse, or it could get better..... So, until then, all we can do and wait and see how the team responds this weekend.

This is what coaches should be focusing on... OL and finding the right mix so they can be consistent on the field. DL line isn't generating pressure or holding their own. Oatis returning this week will help, but we need to find someone else who can step up on DL. Fix that, and the QB situation will take care of itself.

This whole thing is a clutter mess and honestly, Last weekend should've been Simpson's opportunity to see what he can do in the game. We have three types of practices:
1. Those who practices well but play horrible in games. (Barnett, Buchner)
2. Those who practices horrible but plays well.
3. Those who practices horrible, and yet plays horrible.
4. Those who practices well and play well.

Honestly, I don't think Simpson got a fair shot at all, but we're rolling with Milroe and I think we'll be okay. Is it ideal situation? No. IMO... This weekend will make or break the season for them. If Milroe struggles this weekend, then I think they will shift their focus to Longeran. For us to have a chance, OL and QB performance has to improve significantly for coaches/fans to feel better about the team going forward.

The comments by Latham, Booker and Lawson today pretty much told us what the meeting was about. If anyone hasn't picked up on that... listen to JC Latham again and noticed he brought up the word favoritism and QB together. It wasn't prompted by the reporter. I don't think the situation in football program right now is very good at all because of leadership issues and who knows how things will play out. Maybe this is exactly what they need to move forward to get everyone on same page.

The meeting should've happened after Texas Loss, not yesterday. This is similar to last year when Will Anderson talked about the team meeting and etc, but a team meeting shouldn't be necessary two years in a row. I think this was something this continued from last year to this year, and it makes me wonder if it's the same group of people in general.

At end of the day, when it's all said and done, just try and cheer for the team, no matter how much we don't like the situation. It is what it is.

It's funny, but at same time, laugh at my pain.

Ehhh…. me and @JustNeedMe81 are two different posters? But don’t feel bad because you aren’t the first to confuse me with someone else today 😂

Honestly I’m just happy we have a plan going forward, but I don’t see it resulting in an Atlanta Party just yet. It could but my expectations are lowered than what they were 2 weeks ago.

Well, I'm not privy to very much info, and believe me, I do have meltdowns during games, but maybe Coach just thinks, with our current state of everything, (O-Line etc), that Jalen gives us the best chance to win now. I was thinking Ty won a start this week, but I will see what happens and hope it is good.

Well, I dont know the complete reason, other than what was put out, for Milroe to start but hopefully he uses this week of practice to analyze his issues and try to get himself on the right path to playing better

You can’t learn how to read a defense in a week. On a positive note, Pete Golding is Ole Miss’ DC.

The year may be rough. But the rest of the year on Eeyore duty is going to really be a challenge to my sanity. ;)

Sometimes lately, it feels like there’s 500 chickens making noise in a building that echoes
That's what you get when you slam the door on a house full of chicks jacked up on steroids,

I’ve been reading this board for 21 years. Almost never post because I’m not self-involved enough to think everyone in the world wants/needs to hear my every thought.

That being said I think the discourse around this topic is embarrassing—lots of personal shots at those who we disagree with (sounds like our national discourse in general honestly).

I think the concept that CNS has kowtowed to the team is absurd. There are like 10 humans all-time wired like him (win and do it right always no matter what) and I have a really hard time buying that he suddenly became this totally different person in the matter of a year or two.

I won’t argue that JM is a world beater but I’ve seen him turn a surefire busted play into a TD in a fashion that I don’t think many others in CFB could regardless of the level of competition. I think he’s high risk, high reward which may bite us, but I think he’s able to do things that almost no one else can.

I’m also rather bothered by a lot of us being ready to crown someone after 2 pretty pedestrian quarters and at the same time kill a guy for being meh in maybe 5 of 12 quarters—doesn’t feel like we’re treating the two fairly IMO.

This is as it should be.

By my personal eyeball test, Milroe would have waxed South Florida and obviously Saban agrees. Maybe it would have been like 31 to 10, factoring in a pick 6 to keep the Milroe haters happy. ;)
Simpson got 14 pts in a half. That's 28 in a game . And 3 plus games less experience.

I'm well aware of that, and never implied that he would.................but he, as well as the OC, can fix some things that might give him a better chance for success against Golding...........get the running game going, and some stuff over the middle...........we all know how Golding loves the middle

In any case, we all need to chill a little and dont stress over things we have no control over...........win or lose. We will all live alot longer

Well, you should post more. I'm of the same opinion that Coach has not changed his stripes. But this is going to be one of those seasons so this board is going to be quite entertaining to say the least.
