In a cruel twist of fate, Francis was an avid skydiver who, in 1980, was scheduled as a backup if nobody showed up for a particular event. They all arrived, leaving Francis at home - and their plane crashed, killing all on board en route to a drop into Aloha Stadium before a Univ of Hawaii football game.

In high school here in NSB ('71 & '72) I had two other buddies and we all had our favs in that NFC Eastern division. Mine were the Redskins since I grew up in Virginia. The others guys had the Cowboys and the Eagles. Every Monday we'd take turns ribbing each other depending on the games went on Sunday.
