So in the best of three, all home games scenario…

Two home teams swept and two got swept, that’s a little strange.

The Toronto Blue Jays:
a) win more games than the Twins
b) split 3-3 with the Twins

but because of GEOGRAPHY that puts them in a tougher division....Minnesota gets home field........

Still a bit strange that no one goes to three games, especially two home teams that lose game one. They will all be rested.

What sucks is this is going to happen for 2-3 more years and they'll want to make it a best-of-five.

I'm old enough to remember when the NBA's FIRST round of playoffs was 2 out of 3.

It never mattered in that sport; the dominant powerhouse is going to win the 1 vs 8 round.

But what if you're the 87 Twins but can win early because you have Viola and Blyleven?

Braves have been coasting for almost a month. I have zero confidence in their ability to beat the Phillies. If they lose here and Snit is not fired, I am done with them
Yeah we were at one point on pace for like 110-115 wins or so…maybe 120.

Then we just slopped around for the final month.

The Offense has still been mostly pretty good but the Starting pitching has been BAD.

Morton and Fried are banged up.

Wright isn’t really 100% after being gone almost the whole season.

Elder has been getting shelled more than not lately.

Strider either pitches well or gets shelled… it’s a coin flip.

I don’t feel great about things.

I spent ten years working for two companies based in Philadelphia. I can’t even express in words how much I loathe all the Philadelphia pro franchises, in particular the Phillies.

Worst fan base in pro sports.
if you watched any of the 2 games, espn raved about how "great" the philly fans are.

2 years into this new playoff format and only 1 of these 8 wild card series have gone to game 3. It is a waste of time. Need to drop back to the old format and just start with the NLDS.

Also, I hate how MLB uses a structured bracket for the playoffs. Braves should be playing Arizona, not LA. The #1 teams should always get the benefit of playing the lowest ranked winner of the first round.

Honestly, I'd rather play LA in the NLDS than Philly. I don't feel good about this series at all and think a repeat of last year is about to happen, 3-1 series loss.

I'm shocked, MLB gave us the 6:07 et time slot for both games 1 and 2. I figured they would stick us with the 1pm time like they always do.

I know I'm old, but these are both true:

a) the best announcers today have nothing on Jack Buck or Curt Gowdy or Vin Scully or Joe Garagiola and Tony Kubek
b) and the WORST have nothing on How-uhd Cosell, either

Somewhere along the way I learned to tune them all out.....:)
