I think we got a look at the real Alabama team today.I am now 100% percent convinced that Milroe is not SEC QB material and certainly not at Alabama. CNS needs to find an experienced QB in the transfer portal who can buy some time for the younger QBs to develop. Will not say for sure, but we could have a couple more losses this season.
Based on CNS track record I fully expect Milroe to be the starting QB next year and Sayin and the others battling to be QB2. I expect at least 2 QB’s off this years team to transfer out.

The defense save our bacon today even with the mistakes made in the second half. I know this is not a stallings type team but in some ways it is. We could go far with a stout defense even when the offense goes missing sometimes.
I know glass half full but what can I see. Always hopeful. ROLL TIDE!!!!

We took a step back today for sure but I don't see all the doom and gloom. This is a team sport and we made a lot of bone headed mistakes in the second half on Defense. We also scheduled Arkansas for homecoming and those guys play hard. We got up in the game, lost focus and almost got beat. There is plenty to coach coming out of this game and I suspect we will see a different team against the vomiteers. The real Alabama team is a work in progress and as long as they remain coachable then we have a fighters chance because the talent is there.

my gripe is 5 running plays moved the ball 70 yards to the Arky 11, on third down and 3, run the ball, even If you don’t make it . Try the fourth down tush push. Instead they threw an incomplete pass to Burton which made it 4th and 3 . Too far away for a sneak. If you throw it in that situation, throw it to the tight end drifting into the flat or a play action shallow cross. the Real problem, and someone brought this up in the game thread, Kool Aid not adjusting to the punters leg. He needed to catch those punts and not let them roll 20 yards. Otherwise 70 yards of offense would have been aTD instead of third down.

Yes, but we are having to coach during the season on things that should have been mastered during fall camp. We cant coach on more advanced things because we are still having to coach on the basics during game week.

I think the whole team did. Came out flat, picked it up and won the first half then got complacent. Arkansause did the exact opposite and KJ came alive in the second half when we didn't put him down like we should have. We sputtered on offense, D got tired and voila, crappy ending of the game...though we won. Telling you fellas it is going to be scratch and claw the remainder of the season.

But we won the game. Every other college team in the country is having their issues as well. Problem is that we have a tougher schedule than most teams and we are also a fanbase not use to seeing the Tide struggle. Just gotta keep plugging away.

Even Chattanooga might be a struggle win at this point.

I feel like we lost our intensity after the half. Didn't like how we responded to success. J.M missed some throws. Wide receivers dropped some balls. Oline regressed back to below the mean. Even defensively I think we took a step back. Lost our gap discipline which lead to some long qb runs.

The greatest unknown is how much pressure the defense can apply to opposing offenses! That will tell the story against Tennessee, LSU, Auburn and even Kentucky.

If the O-Line remains the same in terms of position and personnel, it will not get better this year. The only possible "fix" is to move some around and/or put different players on the field.
I'll push back and say we DON'T know what the offense would look like if we had a QB who could pre-read a defense and get the ball out quickly with short, accurate passes that move the chains. Do that enough and the run game opens up and then you'll have plenty of deep shots that are wide open too.

Right now, we have to hope for a blown coverage by the defense to get a receiver open deep. Otherwise, the defense doesn't have to honor anything else and can stack the box to clog the run OR rush the QB who will stand back there 5 seconds until they get there.

Coming into this game I was a bit concerned, considering we had a big win last week and have the revenge game with Tennessee coming up. I thought we might take Arky too lightly and It seemed after we got the big lead some of our guys may have started to think about next week. I have to give Arky some credit though. It seems no matter who they play they never quit.

Well it's the old which came first kinda thing....What if the line gave #4 enough time to see the field? Truth is we are probably both right.
