Nor do I at this point. What I was hoping for was the shorthorn PTB would jack that hire up with their typical overbearing egos and push him back to T-Town.
Quite a few of their fans think he is a fraud.............and openly say it. If he doesnt make the playoffs and soon they will be calling for his head.................and I hope Bama welcomes him back with open arms

My ideal scenario would be call Demeco home as HC and bring in Sark as Co-HC. Never gonna happen but what a marriage that would be!

I like how all these threads somehow water down to replacing Coach Saban :ROFLMAO:
Well, considering the first sentence of the thread was,,,,,

“If any of you still think you want Kiffin someday, let me offer a gentle reminder about his personality.”

,,,,, so it might be off the original track but not necessarily off the rails 😉

You literally called him “a horrible head coach IMHO”. Tough to read that any other way. Freeze is at .609 winning percentage at Ole Miss for his complete tenure and Kiffin is at .674. You are cherry-picking years to get the result you want. Kiffin has no losing seasons there while Freeze has a 5-7. Kiffin may not be "Bama material", but he's not horrible as you clearly stated, and are now trying to pull the hot take off the table.
Not taking sides…but this is pretty funny…

Demeco would be my top choice. The HC at Alabama must have character as well as be a good coach. The ones mentioned don't fit that bill, except maybe Sark, but he is locked in at Texas.

I’d take Kiffin over Sark. Lane has kept Ole Miss relevant without a Manning on the team. That’s not easy to do.

He’s a flamethrower. But guess what, Nick is too. Their approach might be different, but Lane gets his players ready.

I am just telling you what I see. There is a contingent of folks on this board that think kitten and sark deserve to the next Bama head coach but I think it would be a big mistake. I still maintain Kevin is a better coach than Lane, Steve or Dan.
What are you basing he would be a better head coach than Sark, Lane, or Lanning? Are you basing it on how he has done as a coordinator or the time he spent as a head coach? Being a successful coordinator doesn't mean someone will be equally successful as a head coach. Going by head coaching records, which is a more apples-to-apples comparison, he isn't the best compared to the three mentioned.

And Mike DuBose ended his career at Opp High School.

Based on my armchair view, I just think none of those guys are worthy of being a long term option at Alabama. At least, I do not see that now. Steve and Lane, they are doing ok but Sark has been in Austin for a minute but still can't seem to help dropping games he surely should be winning. At least his recruiting is decent where Lane can't seem to do anything without the portal. Dan seems to be doing alright at Oregon but so did Mario and it seems both of those guys are making boneheaded decisions on the field too often. Look, I remember when LSU hired Saban and thought that was a head scratcher until he started getting all the best recruits and taking us down on a regular bases. So what do i know? To me, the next Bama coach has yet to reveal himself and that is a good thing since I'm still hoping Nick is at the Capestone for 5 or more years.

Has anyone noticed that five of the penalties called against Bama were for pre-snap infractions? Not only could Cody's removing his helmet at the expiration of the clock extend the game, but the FG hit him in the belly! IOW, it never had a chance, because Cody certainly wasn't a high leaper. They're champions at only one thing - whining...

I wonder how much the micro-management of the boosters is affecting how he manages things?

THAT is why CNS never seriously considered going there.
