We just need Texas, Florida state, Washington, and Oregon, to all just remember who they are. If they do that, it’ll be fine.

I’m thinking UW and/or Texas eat a loss this weekend. I just find the whole narrative that they’ve been peddling like a drum for this season. Pac 12 is by far the best football conference from top to bottom and the SEC is touch above the group of 5 conferences this year. While it is down a little everyone with any hint of a football IQ knows how absurd that is. Give Oregon or UW Bama’s schedule and tell me what their record would be.

It’ll be interesting to see if it plays out like always with someone throwing up all over themselves or if the change to 12 proves that it was badly needed.

Personally, I think last year proved that.

Okay, "precedent" is the wrong term to apply here. I can agree with that. Neither is "standard" because they obviously don't consistently operate to any. My point still is they have included a team with a CCG loss before and may very well do it again. And if we are still a 1 Loss team ranked 2-3 spots out at the time, I don't see them moving Bama passed UGA with a close win. If we have 2 losses, then the best we can hope for is NY-6 bowl IMO.
I don't think anyone thinks Bama is even under consideration with 2 losses, nor should they be this year.

OTOH, there is no way that a 12-1 Alabama won't get in over a 12-1 UGA. Bama would have the same record, a much better SOS, be SEC champs and have the recent h2h win over UGA. Frankly, it is inconceivable. Yes, they have included a CCG loser before and I applaud the fact that they do consider it, but the 2023 Alabama/UGA version would not be a valid application.

What I don't like about the committee is if number 1 loses at the end they only drop them down 2 spots.

So that means Jawja can play their 2nd team against us and know they are in at #3
thats good point so even if we win SECCG they wont move us to playoff and instead GA will go.

That explains the intention of this committee

The committee is not doing their job. The only reason they exist is to get the 4 best teams in the playoff. Right now they are failing. Continuing to have Bama at #8 is egregious.
It's sort of painfully obvious they wrote Bama off after losing to Texas. The fact this Alabama team has been winning and convincingly probably irritates the mainstream media pundits, who made their biases blatantly clear. I knew something was up after Bama beat A&M @ Kyle Field (who was supposed to cream us) and then stayed in neutral in the polls, but then when Tennessee the very next week beat the same team but in Neyland and they went up like three spots. That was super sus. I think I even commented something on here about it that week.. Whatever if we don't make the playoffs it's not the end of the world, We'll end up in a bowl game with a team that's grateful to share the field with the Crimson Tide and hand us a win and we'll finish the season 11-2 (L to UGA) or 12-1 (W to UGA). That's a good year no matter what, can't do much about the media ruining our playoff run in week 2 of the season. Next year will be a different game entirely, with the playoff expansion, good luck keeping Alabama out then.

Remember, most of Coach Saban's National Title teams have had at least one loss on record.

Greenbow, Alabama
tOSU v Michigan
FSU v Louisville (ACC Championship Game)
UT v Okla State or OU (Big XII Championship Game)
Oregon v Washington (PAC 12 Championship Game)

4 of these teams will be eliminated. All we can do is beat auburn and UGA.

You can’t justify us behind Texas because of Head to Head and then not jump us over UGA if we win Head to head.

it will work itself out.
They absolutely can. There is zero consistency to any of this committee’s “reasoning”. Yes, only the final poll matters. But with this committee more than any other, the prior rankings set up their future rankings. What will be especially telling is where we are in relation to the #4 slot after the Auburn game.

Currently, we are being punished for things that other teams are being rewarded for, and get zero movement for things other teams are rewarded for. For example. We are being continuously punished for losing to Texas, but Oregon is basically being continuously rewarded for losing to undefeated Washington. This committee is applying different standards to different teams, so we really have no idea what they are going to do when the music stops.

That said, I do believe that if we win out we are in. But this particular committee gives me very little confidence and I would not be surprised if they found a way to screw us.
