Bama getting no respect

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I mean seriously how was a flag not thrown on that play? Even if you want to make the argument that it’s not targeting (it is), it still HAS to be a late hit if nothing else.

Exactly. The "no targeting" decision was a bit iffy, but okay, it happens. But Stevie Wonder could have seen that it was a late hit.

Listening to the talking heads this morning I can see a scenario where we beat the doggies in a close game and this year’s committee puts them in and leaves us out.
they already set precedent for that last year w TCU KSU

That is not going to happen.

I'd never bet on anything with this committee - but "Alabama becomes the first team to beat Georgia since Alabama beat Georgia and oh yeah, we're still putting Georgia and their soft touch schedule in the playoff" is NOT going to happen.

It’s not really that far-fetched. OSU has a less impressive resume than Bama, but they will be ranked ahead of us come Tuesday night. This committee sucks.

It’s crazy that we are in the same position today as we were 4 or 5 weeks ago. The likelihood of not having upsets in the top 8 during that span is so small compared to the likelihood of having just one, yet here we are.

With that said, the one data point that is not being considered, and frankly I don’t think will until it actually happens, is how a win over UGA will resonate with the committee. I just think it would be a factor that is not really comparable to anything else, even Michigan’s win over Ohio St. I’m not saying we definitely get in with a win, I just think it will be really really hard to keep us out at that point. If Oregon jumps FSU, then I think the door opens a little for us.

Coaches poll

Absolutely pathetic Oregon and OSU are ahead of Texas and Bama. Oregon has besten no one. Don’t try to sell me the Oregon State crap.

I feel like we deserved to be dropped lower after yesterday but we’re lucky there is nothing but 2 loss teams after us.

The committee and polls don’t respect us or like us and all we did yesterday was validate their opinion.

If we get left out it will 1000% be our fault for not impressing when we had the chance.

That’s the issue with targeting even being a foul. We already have penalties that address this issue. Now refs get tied up with targeting/no targeting and Miss obvious fouls like this one.
