Well, our luck finally ran out. My wife showed symptoms on Saturday AM, although she said she started to feel a little ill Friday night. We shared our usual goodnight kiss Friday night, so I'm exposed. Unfortunately, I just had my booster only on Monday. She tested negative Saturday AM but positive this AM. I guess we'll how my immune system holds up. Also, unfortunately, I had had to take Prednisone for a couple of days for a knee problem, an immune system depressant. So, we're set up. So far, her symptoms are light, so my fingers are crossed...
Liz went to her monthly ladies' club meeting on Tuesday. That's almost certainly when she caught it...Pretty sure I got it at the SECCG or on MARTA to and from. I was sick last week. Wife went down over this past weekend and is still recovering. Symptoms similar to when we caught it last time a year or so ago
there's also been a nasty flu strain going around over here. my daughter and i both had it 3 weeks ago.Pretty sure I got it at the SECCG or on MARTA to and from. I was sick last week. first time i've had it in probably 20 years. we all got the vax a month earlier. my daughter and i got it, (flu) my wife didn't even get a sniffle.Great. I haven’t marked flu on my bingo card yet.
I know...I was just adding a caveat about the flu to this thread. It's that season again. This is Covid. She tested negative Saturday but positive yesterday and today...
Me suspects me have Covid even though the OTC test was negative.
Slight fever
Congestion
Pain in every joint
Fatigue
I called in to work sick yesterday for the first time since I've been doing contract work.
And it IS making another go-round up here in NE Massachusetts.

Can no one just die anymore? Seems like anytime someone dies the anti-vax crowd litters comment sections with allusions to covid Vax. it has become tiresome.
My poor friend Ed - now a pastor mind you - had his share of Job's comforters when his 17-year old daughter died of a heart attack while dancing in the office. Yes, she had been vaxxed months earlier, but the part nobody seemed to grasp was she was born without a fully developed heart in the first place and needed emergency surgery in his first days on earth just to live. Granted, she'd had no symptoms of anything.
She passed two years ago.
One year ago, he took a sabbatical for a week in Mexico and everybody had not one but TWO questions: was it Covid
was it the vaccine
And there were agenda setters in both cases.
There were idiots saying that Hamlin guy on Buffalo last year had had his heart stopped because of the vaccine. These are people who couldn't explain the workings of the extrinsic pathway, and yet they KNOW what happened. (If you don't know what the extrinsic pathway is, that's kind of my point; arguing "clot shot" when you cannot even explain the basics of blood coagulation is pretty much a non-starter).
I've resisted Liz's covid now for 8 days. I've also had six jabs, but, OTOH, I'm pretty resistant anyway. She had a really rough time with the RSV vaccine. I checked and both of them are made from GMO Chinese hamster eggs, which is a no-no for both of us, having AGS. Now, IDK whether to chance it or not...After a week of mild post-nasal drip, after going to the gym every day, I was curious last night and tested myself. It went straight to red.
2nd time (that I know of) that I have had Covid, and both times, mild symptoms. Almost asymptomatic.
Of course, I've had about six jabs with the Pfizer vax.
Is Covid becoming just another annoying cold virus?
Obviously your antibodies are strong enough to protect you...RSV and Covid and flu together knocked me on my butt for 2+ days...and most vaccines never bothered me before the bone marrow transplant.I've resisted Liz's covid now for 8 days. Actually, that sort of reaction is good. It shows a strong immune system. My worst were the second covid and the second Shingrix. I'm a little leery of the RSV...Obviously your antibodies are strong enough to protect you...RSV and Covid and flu together knocked me on my butt for 2+ days...and most vaccines never bothered me before the bone marrow transplant.
