It won't happen, but the guy I'd like to see played at Alabama - Demeco Ryans.

I would be interested in this. He's the right age, he played for the right school, he's a defensive-minded coach and he's done reasonably well in the bigs.

It’s a different era in CFB, especially with NIL and the portal. Obviously no one will ever fill Saban’s shoes but if you think about Day replacing Urban, Riley replacing Stoops, having a strong program makes the transition from legend to successor easier. I’d like to imagine the program is in a better place today than it was after Bear retire or Stallings retired.

Not to mention Nick Saban was an up and coming national title winner versus where he is now.. his legend and clout at LSU were nowhere near where they are at Alabama.
