Who in their right mind would even want to be the guy who steps into Nick Saban's shoes?
It’s a different era in CFB, especially with NIL and the portal. Obviously no one will ever fill Saban’s shoes but if you think about Day replacing Urban, Riley replacing Stoops, having a strong program makes the transition from legend to successor easier. I’d like to imagine the program is in a better place today than it was after Bear retire or Stallings retired.

The only guys who can stop any sort of bleeding are

Kirby - Not happening obviously
Sark - also likely not happening
Kiffin - doubt it
Lanning - makes the most sense

Anyone know who Nick wanted to replace him at LSU? Hint...he ain't coaching anymore.
I have no idea, but I would be shocked if Coach Saban even offered a suggestion given the fact that he left LSU to go somewhere else, even if it was to the NFL.

I don't think Saban and LSU's AD were bosom buddies.

Not to mention Nick Saban was an up and coming national title winner versus where he is now.. his legend and clout at LSU were nowhere near where they are at Alabama.
