From what I have read, Bond always wanted to play for Texas and only came to the Capstone because of Nick. Only makes sense that when Saban retired that he looked back to his original love. That and the fact that the QB situation seems much better with the froghorns at the moment.

I think at some point some college is going to have to sue another college for tampering. I also wonder how intellectual property would be viewed here. Any playbook. Any access to anything strategic would be vulnerable.

I wonder where these players get their advice. Lot of poor decisions being made by players in the portal. For every successful transfer, there are 10x unsuccessful moves. I would like to be selling used luxury cars to these gullible puppies!

My immediate reaction is that if DeBoer reaches out he should respond simply as a courtesy. But my logical reaction is that DeBoer is a total stranger to him, and his decision had already been made, so why waste anyone's time?

In my work I get countless sales calls from vendors. Sometimes I will take a call simply as a courtesy even if I know that I am not interested in the service - especiallyif someone that i know asks me to take the call. But most times I simply cannot spare the time or headspace.

So, he chose not to respond. If he had responded, it clearly would have changed nothing with respect his decision. But it would have endeared him to a lot of people. Sometimes people are myopic.

I think that, when it comes to re-recruiting current players, I think at some point you must treat it like a commitment from a high school player. “You commit, you’re good. You’re on scholarship. But if YOU shop, WE shop. You may find something you think is better. However we might find something better too.”

“You hit the portal to “peddle your wares” for more NIL dollars, we are immediately going to shop for someone as good or better than you. Remember once you consider the notion of a transfer, it is UP TO US as to the decision to honor that scholarship. So this not without some risk. Welcome to the “real world” young fellow.

I really think this was the straw that broke the camel’s back in terms of CNS’s decision to retire. I think CNS would have hung on another couple of years had it not been for college football free agency. It flat wore him out.

I thought the same when I saw the interview he with Rece Davis. He said something. They were talking about NIL and the state of college football and he said something along the lines of "there will be more to come from me on this"

I’m genuinely shocked he didn’t reconsider, knowing who we just hired. Loyalty and school pride mean nothing to these kids.

As a WR its hard to impress if you only get one or two chances to catch a ball a game. Dont blame him for looking for a better opportunity. Same with our TE's...Deboer better convince them that we will have a QB that can throw in the offense
