Is that surprising? One dude v 5-7…So, he allowed fewer sacks in one season than the ENTIRE Bama Oline? Hes 275 Seth outweighed him by what 40 lbs yet wet his pants everytime a dlineman lined up across feom him???

I’m less of an expert than you but I could tell their technique was horrendous. Absolutely no leverage. That OL coach was worse than Marrone by far.OL technique/defensive schemes are probably my weakest area of football knowledge but I think technique is huge for offensive linemen and things like arm length and footwork are incredibly more important than sheer bulk.
It sure didn't look like we were using our weight advantage even on rushing plays at times.I’m less of an expert than you but I could tell their technique was horrendous. Absolutely no leverage. That OL coach was worse than Marrone by far.
Or hell, they could just switch sides and jerseys at halftime.Oh my....when Iowa is tampering with your player with no fear of repercussions then it's truly a wild west scenario. What's next? A player transferring during the game after he is benched?
This offseason is really making me dislike what CFB has turned itself into.
no, Pritchett was the other LT in 23, and early in the year was getting decent in game reps along with Proctor. He'll likely step into the role if everything settles down for him off the field.Pritchett is listed at RT. So I'm guessing either Naquil Betrand, the transfer from A&M, or Olaus Alinen.
partially maybe sorta. technique and length are critical for sure, and there is a point where extra bulk is probably not an advantage, but there's also a point where you're just not big enough to hold your own. He's very, very likely going to have to add weight - probably needs to be at a floor of 290...OL technique/defensive schemes are probably my weakest area of football knowledge but I think technique is huge for offensive linemen and things like arm length and footwork are incredibly more important than sheer bulk.
I think our nutritionist and trainers can handle putting 15 pounds on him if they see that as the target weight.partially maybe sorta. technique and length are critical for sure, and there is a point where extra bulk is probably not an advantage, but there's also a point where you're just not big enough to hold your own. I "heard" Bowl Cut hired TRob and gave him a Co-DC role to get Caleb Downs only for Downs to go to tOSU. Now Bowl Cut is stuck managing two egos of DC's. LolSome uga radio sports DJ, said he "heard" Bama offered Norvell "everything" and he said no and fsu gave him a raise. Then we "settled" for DeBoer after also being turned down by "several others". He offered zero proof only that he "heard it". I think the real story is Sexton let it leak when there was no truth to it at all. Sexton is really good at what he does.
I was going by where JessN had him in his 3 deep depth chart. So if Pritchett is LT, then who starts RT? McVay? Betrand?no, Pritchett was the other LT in 23, and early in the year was getting decent in game reps along with Proctor. So I think we pretty much agree. I don't think the transfer is going to have to pack on pounds up to like 320+ or anything like that, so it's not just that sheer mass is always better, just that, as I said, there is a lower limit to where it's going to be really hard to match up against SEC DTs. Kelcy was above that floor. I think that floor is above the new guys current weight. Seth M's best year (2021, before the snap issues), I think he was in the 290-295 range and played well.I think our nutritionist and trainers can handle putting 15 pounds on him if they see that as the target weight.
But I pointed out Travis Kelcy played this year at 295. Best center for the last several years in the NFL. So I still think technique is more important than sheer weight.
Serves him right.I "heard" Bowl Cut hired TRob and gave him a Co-DC role to get Caleb Downs only for Downs to go to tOSU. Now Bowl Cut is stuck managing two egos of DC's. Lol
I didn't focus on the middle of the LOS a lot, but it didn't seem UW's center and guards had any issue with the same Texas DL that we did.So I think we pretty much agree. He's 6'2, shorter than most OL. That accounts for a little of the low weight compared to the taller 6'5 guys. But also I hear he has a lot of strength for his size.275 might work on the west coast, it won't down south. Technique is good, but DL have technique also.
Jess had him at LT, and McVay at RT. That said, I think a LOT of guys will get looks across the board, and expect we'll see a lot of combinations and movement through springI was going by where JessN had him in his 3 deep depth chart. So if Pritchett is LT, then who starts RT? McVay? Betrand?
Yes, I have too much time on my hands today. And no, I haven't adjusted this for what I expect are positional changes under DeBoer. This is simply taking what we already had, and taking out the portal guys and whatnot, so you can track how we're doing:

Their LG is 327, and RG is 311, so well into the 'big enough' range, plus against UTe we were still playing Dalcourt, and he was a major weak link.I didn't focus on the middle of the LOS a lot, but it didn't seem UW's center and guards had any issue with the same Texas DL that we did.
Another day; another time. John Hannah was only 265Dwight Stephenson made the NFL hall of fame playing at about 250 pounds.
