Technique and strength are the key factors. You need bulk also, but too much of it affects mobility, quickness and technique. Jaeden Roberts is our strongest player. Probably was our best blocker in 23. Knowing your assignment is vital.I’m less of an expert than you but I could tell their technique was horrendous. Absolutely no leverage. That OL coach was worse than Marrone by far.
He revised it since Proctor and others left. He originally had Pritchett at RT. This is what I copied and pasted to my notes. He updated it the 18th. I last looked at it the 17th.Jess had him at LT, and McVay at RT. That said, I think a LOT of guys will get looks across the board, and expect we'll see a lot of combinations and movement through spring

My grandad likes to tell this story about when he saw John Hannah and some other players try and park a VW beetle on the strip in a tight parallel spot, and Hannah picked up the front end and just slid the car into place.Another day; another time. John Hannah was only 265
He's 6'2, shorter than most OL. That accounts for a little of the low weight compared to the taller 6'5 guys. But also I hear he has a lot of strength for his size.

Maybe he will come back? Seriously, I know that players can pull themselves from the portal, but have any of our guys done that? Seems like most of them conveniently already have a school lined up to ink with almost immediately after declaring. Also, he entered on Friday and it’s the weekend. So talking to an Ohio state fan neighbor and he said that Ohio State thinks their QB room is to full right now and are not really interested in bringing him in. So if reports are true (not saying they are but are out there that we chose Mack over him and now Ohio State doesn’t have room you have to wonder what going on). He has way too much talent for two teams basically saying thanks but no thanks. There must be something else going on here. USC now sounds like the favorite.
Day does not want to run off Air Noland, so he told him that he was considering offering Sayin. Apparently Noland was fine with it - welcomed the competition. So I think that he will get an offer. But he will not be guaranteed the job.Maybe he will come back? Seriously, I know that players can pull themselves from the portal, but have any of our guys done that? Two great QBs…that’ll be tough to manage.Day does not want to run off Air Noland, so he told him that he was considering offering Sayin. Apparently Noland was fine with it - welcomed the competition. So I think that he will get an offer. But he will not be guaranteed the job.
last decent line coach was StoutlandGuys our line out weighed every NFL line this year. How did that work out for us? Our new linemen will in most cases get better nutrition at Alabama and will definitely receive better coaching from the line coach.
In today's world it is not a risk for the players. The loser can just transfer out.Two great QBs…that’ll be tough to manage.
Good problem to have…
He was great, as was Pendry. Saban built his dynasty on the lines that those two men built.last decent line coach was Stoutland
plus Will Howard committed. I think there will be lot musical chairs going on even this spring. Two great QBs…that’ll be tough to manage.

bulk helps in resistance to being moved, too much is worse than not enough. You still have to be able to move quicklyI’m less of an expert than you but I could tell their technique was horrendous. Absolutely no leverage. That OL coach was worse than Marrone by far.
Completely agree. We were way overweight this year. No speed, no quickness, no leverage = record sacks allowed, tons of other tackles for losses, inability to pick up 3rd and shorts.bulk helps in resistance to being moved, too much is worse than not enough. You still have to be able to move quickly
Preach! I’ve been shouted down in this board for making this point. The regression started with Cristobal. That’s when we started the trend of hiring great recruiters who were decent coaches. Technique, especially on the OL, started to suffer. He was great, as was Pendry. Saban built his dynasty on the lines that those two men built.
Kyle Flood was good or the talent of the 2020 OL was extremely good.Preach! I’ve been shouted down in this board for making this point. The regression started with Cristobal.
