I mostly agree with this thought, it’s obviously the most important position, but Bryce proved the QB cannot do it alone.

Coaching situation is overall in a much better place now. What BOB did was criminal. BY did so much more than he should have been doing.

But we are in such a better place with CKD as a QB coach and developer.

I think we are grinding our gears way too much about a departed safety, no matter how good he might have been.

I am beginning to wonder how many "Agiye Halls" there will be now since they can move around and not put in the work or effort to master their craft.
" The work or effort to master their craft . " That statement insinuates a certain degree of " incompleteness ". How many of these kids consider themselves incomplete in any aspect ?

…so realistically, not even half of them

he was actually improving late in the season. I think we as fans expect too much from a freshman even with a 5-star label next to his name to come in and set the world on fire. it wasn't realistic, but he has all the potential to be a stud in the coming years!
I don’t understand why he wasn’t moved to RT and Latham to LT.

Amen, brother. We’re dancing on the head of a pin trying to convince everyone else that Caleb Downs is the best player in college football. Or maybe he’s the best DB. Or maybe just the best safety. Or the best player on our team last year. Or the best defender. Or maybe he just had a really good freshman season and a high ceiling, but isn’t yet a proven commodity.

Bottom line is that if he were still in Tuscaloosa, Downs would be counted on as an alpha leader and player. He’d definitely be starting, and referred to a coach on the field. He’d be a leader in the locker room, the film room and THE leader in the secondary.

He’s gone now and we’ll miss him. We’d be better if he were still here. He isn’t, and that won’t change no matter how much we wish it would.

We play with the men we have. Let’s move on.

💯 agree on the coaching staff.

This time of year transfer losses and scrutinizing QBs is all we got lol. September can’t get here fast enough!

We will find out next season if Latham would be able to play LT for the Titans.
Latham was a beast in the run game, but he was abused in the pass protection by smaller & faster rushers, so I am guessing that this could be one of the reasons.

He weighs like 360 something I read the other day. I believe he can play LT if he drops 30 pounds or more

Maybe.
Six 4*
Four 3*
Not sure what you are looking at. We have 10 commits and 9 are 4* with 1 3*. And the 3* is Luke Metz, who will become a 4* at some point and had offers from Oklahoma, Michigan, LSU, Tennessee, etc. DeBoer is doing ok.

I was looking at 247. On3 won't let me look because of my ad blocker.
Rivals has eight 4* and two 3*.

I wonder how often a player's stars increase based upon what coaches/programs offer them.

Seems like in the past a lot of 3 starts became 4 stars and 4 stars became 5 stars after they got visits from the likes of Saban and Smart and Day.
I think you got 4 stars if the recruiting services found out CNS called you.
