Well it’s like your typical offensive high school football coach. Yes you technically have a guy that is an offensive coordinator but do you really?

Murph is married to the 2000’s Arizona system in which you play small ball, great fielding, and elite pitching. The problem is that the game has expanded so much and a lot of your travel ball coaches are developing elite boppers that match Oklahoma’s style. Alot of our misses in recruiting is because many travel ball coaches are tired of seeing their clients fizzle out at Alabama because Murphy doesn’t play to their strengths.

No doubt one of the best to do it. But even the best have to grow & adapt. We’ve discussed this ad nauseam about Saban. How he adjusted to the game when needed. Murph needs to take a leaf. Some adjustments will have to be made in hitting approach/coaching to win it all. For now we’ll just make it to OKC the way we play but cannot outscore teams like OU.

Plenty good enough to make OKC. But to win it? Probably not. I hope this team pulls a 2021 Ole Miss (baseball). They have the talent & team chemistry to do it. Let’s see.

I love this team, but overall they don't hit very well. And I'm proud that they fought hard and made it to OKC. We got the grand slam that just made it out of the yard, but what about the rest of the game. I don't think we ever really threatened to score again. I'm glad our pitching came thru, but all it would have taken is one long ball in the 7th for Tennessee and we're done. The teams in OKC have good pitching and can hit too. I wish us well, but we're going to need to have better hitting.

When you try and celebrate an achievement for a team and there’s always someone who has to post something negative about it, it’s hard to deal with. You have a group of people on here that are the most negative fans of this University you’ve ever seen. I try to be supportive or a “sunshine pumper” as I’m called. Alabama has made the CWS. RTR.

Hey, I'm as happy as anyone to see us get to OKC again. Based on how we looked this year, I think it's pretty much a miracle. Last year we got there by riding Montana Fouts, but we were 2 and cue cause we couldn't hit the ball. This year, our pitching got hot at the right time, and we finally played great defense down the stretch. I'll be pulling for the ladies, but hope they can find a way to score more runs.

Yeah. I think we could beat UCLA under the right circumstances but i think beating Oklahoma afterwards would be one of the biggest wins in program history. Oddly enough i think we may actually be on the easier side of the bracket. Florida, Texas, Okie St, and Stanford is going to be a bloodbath.

think Oklahoma and Oklahoma St are probably the betting favorites with how mortal Texas looked and Tennessee getting bounced.

If we get one win in OKC it will be a major accomplishment. But this team has far overachieved already.

This team has gotten to the CWS with an offense that could be charitably described as suspect. And beat the hated Viles (#3 seed nationally) in their house to do it.

They’ve massively over-achieved in the NCAA tournament, surprised me to death (I’m on record advocating for a coaching change), and I’m happy for them.

Now, because the team did better than a lot of us (including me ) expected, we’re sparring with one another. Unbelievable.

This thread is looking a lot like ones we’ve recently had to shut down on the Football board.

As Bamabuzzard warned over there: Going forward, activity like this won’t receive the tolerance it did in the latest locked thread. We had hoped it would sort itself out with a few nudges, but that didn’t happen, and we let it go on too long. We won’t repeat that mistake.

Now let’s be happy for a team in the WCWS and quit circling up to form a firing squad.

There are a gaggle of you that think being challenging, confrontational, difficult is fun, entertaining, and you wear it as a badge of honor.

But what it really does is create negativity in a place where fans want to unite, bond, and celebrate with friends.

I think we will just call it out more aggressively. Publicly. And outright delete messages that are trolling or sparring in nature.

If you feel the urge to go there, do it directly. Send them a message and have at it. But the public slapfight approach needs to chill.

It’s gotten to the point we actually are talking about deleting emoji choices. Because some of “us” use them to trigger others vs using it as an expression of how they feel.

So, to echo 4Q, cut it out. You are driving folks away. And it’s time to get it back in line. Now.
