Thanks for the 'crootin nuggets- It looks like any chance of Briski jumping ship is gone which is fantastic news. Add in these two ladies (if Moten enrolls early) and that is a staff (on paper) that is amazing.

Still hoping to hear the details on Cahalan. I didn't see or hear of any unhappiness with her, of course in this day and age, someone could have just sent her a bag of money. I have absolutely no clue how much NIL is in effect with SB, but I'd think? the big schools give the ladies a little something at least.

But aren't we supposed to be one of the big schools? I'd rate us as a fringe blue blood in softball. I don't know how much we spend on softball, but I'd assume we would be one of the top 5-7 schools in terms of funding

Good point Titles. I agree, I'd hope we are in the top 10 in spending. I know it probably never see the light of day, but I'd love to see how much NIL $ is spent on all the sports- Obviously football and MBB are gonna have the huge budgets, but would be interesting to see what an OU for example, spends on softball and GYM where it seems they are almost unbeatable.

My question is are we bringing Riley in just to have another arm on the staff or to be a starter to go along with Briski. Her stats at Ole Miss weren't great, with a 4-7 record and a 2.81 ERA. Her WHIP, (walks, hits per inning pitched), was 1.53. Ole Miss was not good this past year, and they were the only team we won the series against. Maybe that's why her stats are what they are. It just doesn't look, at least on paper, like we're getting another Beaver. I haven't seen her pitch so maybe she's a lot better than I know, and being at BAMA will help her. I certainly hope it works out for the best.

Yup, agree altogether. She had a better year stat-wise as a sophomore. We need a reliable #2 behind Briski and some depth. So worst case we get some depth. Too many unknowns on this staff.

Extremely disappointing to see our best hitter for average go to the Gators of all teams.
I know the last at bat pinch hit is getting lots of play, but she had to be thinking of transferring well before that??
I’m still shocked. To be honest since 2017 UF has not been any better than UA

I think I called this one early on, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was some tampering in this case. We lost Skylar Wallace to Florida because she wanted to play SS. Now she's gone and Florida needed another SS, so they come after ours. It also wouldn't surprise to find out that pinch hit for Cahalan was on purpose. I wonder what she got paid to make the switch.

Cahallan's dad coaches for the Birmingham Thunderbolts travel softball organization so you have that in play as they are a pretty highly rated program. I'm sure he has contacts with staffs all over the country. Bama is bringing in a shortstop from Louisiana who hit 83 homeruns for her high school team over her career. I think she may have been asked to move to 3rd and wouldn't. If I am Murphy and knew or was suspicious that this might have been going on, she wouldn't have had to worried about being pinch hit for because she wouldn't have been in the lineup at all.
