Tough loss but we'll get over it

It's not those complaining - I get that. It's those who are already writing off this season, the staff, etc.

It's an over-reaction to a bad day on the field. This team literally has every championship goal that had before game one still available to them.
I have a weird question… would anyone trade a win over Georgia for a win over Vandy? This past week we have been non stop praising the staff, team, and direction but now we have many saying get rid of the staff, team, and non potential. To me I would rather Kirby and the doggy fans question how Vandy did what they couldn’t, and for our players to finally get a reality check against Vandy.

Great question. I think who you beat is more important than who you lose to - provided you only lose a game or two, of course. So, at this point, I'd rather have a win over UGA. I think that is more impressive than a loss to Vandy is damaging.

If the order were reversed, I would agree. But the loss to Vandy the week after the win over Georgia wiped that win out with respect team confidence.

I don't care about the playoffs right now as it is too far off. I am worried about the players and their ability to move forward as a team, continuously improving as the season progresses.

No it probably put their confidence back where it should be. We were quite confident maybe overconfident coming into the UGA game. We showed everyone how good we can be and how good we know we are. Then we got up 28-0 and that knowing how good we are became a priority ober closing out the game. You knew we were in trouble when a reserve OL got an unsportsmanlike penalty at the half jawing with the UGA players on their sideline. He had no business being over there.

You know if a reserve OL was ao arrogant to do such a thing then he has been seeing it from the starters during the week and during games.on the sideline. This LANK bs has infected the whole team and much of the student body. Well they got their comeuppance yesterday.

So you want the team to lose more games to teach them a lesson? I agree that their lack of preparation resulted in this loss, and that this was caused by lack of humility. But without confidence it is impossible to play winning football.

I don't think we throw out the season just yet. But Coach Saban the commentator, did something out of character in front of cameras and through association gave another SEC team bulletin board material to work off of. Ironically they probably didn't need the motivation but it sure did add an edge to their game. Secondly, the boys might want to check all the choreography in the endzone going forward. Its not a good look. Makes me miss the good ol' days of ACT LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE that used to be the Standard.

Saban was left with Shula's players.

DeBoer was left with mostly Saban's players.

The comparison is apples to oranges.
Plus, this Alabama team was ranked #1 in the country. The team Saban inherited wasn't close in the level of talent and four and five-star players that this one has.

I have a question. Would we be this upset if we lost to say, Arkansas? Or what about one of James Franklin's 9-4 Vandy teams? Because to me, it feels like if we just slap another logo on the helmet, then most people probably aren't quite as upset about this

Honestly, I was aggravated that we allowed it to happen with the way we played, but I wasn't aggravated at the end because Vandy deserved to win. It wasn't some fluke. Our guys played with arrogance, and Vandy just lined up and whipped us. We got what we deserved. I just hope we learn from it and actually learn to play for four quarters. I still don't think I've seen us put four quarters of good football together since 2020.

That would constitute targeting in today's game...Please refrain from violent comments per board policy

This! Oh how we quickly forget. The "good ole days" stopped at 2020 and it was ONLY because of a historic offense. Before that, it was 2017 and before. We haven't put together many "complete games" in four years, with three of those four years being under Nick Saban.

Let's be honest, Nick got out because he KNEW the landscape had shifted beyond his ability to dominate like he wanted. So, he pulled the plug.
