How can this statement be ignored by a majority of the electorate?

"Donald Trump suggested sending the military after U.S. citizens on Election Day, The Independent reports.

Said Trump: “I don’t think immigrants are the problem in terms of election day. I think the bigger problem are the people from within, we have some very bad people, sick people, radical left lunatics.”

He added: “And it should be easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military.”

That paired with the fact Vance endorsed the book, "Unhuman"

On election day at that.
My friend, who is a 72 year old woman dealing with a husband with Alzheimer's and helps with her wheelchair bound grandson afflicted with severe neurological problems, had just come from the nursing home when she stopped to run into a grocery store. She had a Kamala pin on her purse. Some woman leaving the store saw the pin, turned around and started following my friend around the isles screeching at her. My friend turned to her and told her to leave her alone before she called 911. Finally, the store manager came up, saying the same and the woman left. This was in St Augustine about a week ago. People have become unhinged.

Unhinged is correct, and completely unacceptable behaviour.

I have never witnessed anything like that myself, but have observed those who take their politics WAY too far.

In the end, we are all representatives of our parents' upbringing.

One can choose to honor them - or not.

Been thinking about the General Election coming up fast and with so much going on in my current situation I decided to do a 'vote by mail' this year. Went to our country election website, went through a few hoops, and now a ballot will be arriving in my mailbox for me to mail back in.

It was very easy!

I've always enjoyed voting in person. More times than not....this town is small enough that I tend to run into folks I know. Same as when I go to Publix. ;)

I'm not doing it this year but have in the past. I liked that I could track when my ballot entered to be counted. Since hubs and I are retired, we've started voting early and that's worked out well for us.

Earle, there has been a steady stream of things over the last 8 years that leave me asking how in the world can you support this ? And yet, the latest polls seem to indicate another win for him is vey possible, if not likely. How can the race even be close ? How can we call ourselves the greatest country in the world with this absolute madness going on ? I am saddened beyond belief.

At this point in the election most folks probably have their mind made up who they will vote for.

Strategy-wise......as a candidate what do you do in these last few weeks that might have some actual value in getting what remaining votes are available?

I'm no expert......but I'm just not seeing it's anything they are doing right now. Rallies and talk show appearances...yawn......

How about donating a huge portion of your election funds for causes that everyone would appreciate?

You'd have to market it the right way. Not sure either candidate is able to do that but I digress.....

*"X candidate" pledges to donate $20 million for animal rescue organizations. Or how about $50 million?

You could also include battered women's shelters.

And something for the little one's......Make a wish foundation - (or something similar).

"We have decided to do away with all future election advertising and instead use that money to actually help those who need it the most...the elderly...the young...and the animals."

Then....let the media followup with visits to these organizations and interviews with them - free PR!

Would that help bring more votes to your campaign? I don't know - like I said I'm no expert.

But I think there is a fair number of people who dislike both candidates --- and those people are the ones who might like this idea enough to vote for that candidate for finally doing something that cannot be debated one way or another as a positive for society.

* I don't know what the right number should be so just throwing those numbers out for discussion purposes.

There are other things that could be done different than what's being done now (yawn) but what I said above would be a start, IMHO.....

People shouldn't ignore the effect of the illegal immigration issue on this election.

so, apparently donnie had a half hour dance party in front of his rally crowd

Trump then stood on stage swaying and bobbing to the music, while the crowd appeared unsure if the event was over, the Associated Press reported.
After the Village People’s “YMCA” was played—usually a song played at the end of Trump’s rallies—the former president remained on stage and asked, “Nobody’s leaving, what's going on?”
A few more songs were played as the “music fest” segment of the town hall lasted more than 30 minutes, as the crowd slowly streamed out of the venue, and ended only when Trump finally left the stage.
