My wife likes the book reviews.Same here (and the recipes). Their OpEd section is a hot mess, and too often they have misleading headlines that serve as clickbait. Their long form articles remain excellent, though.

We almost finished viewing a long Steve Schmidt video today with a Republican and Democratic pollsters dissecting undecided and infrequent voters in the electorate and what antimates their decision process.
I come away irritated that Kamala has not been strong enough on what can differentiate her from Joe Biden. While we can disagree with Biden's ratings, the fact remains that his approval rating is around 26% and no party has ever won a Presential race with the incumbent below water in their approval level.
In the final days she has to 1) differentiate herself from Biden based on the information we have today and 2) paint Trump as being incompetent from a mental capacity and dangerous from a Facist/NAZI standpoint who has promised to use the US Army on his opponents.
If she lacks the moral strength to do that we will all suffer the results!

I'm still trying to figure out how she was supposed to do this without angering the Joe loyalists. Yes, they are a thing and would be none too happy to see their guy get thrown under the bus.I come away irritated that Kamala has not been strong enough on what can differentiate her from Joe Biden.
1. This is something she cannot do. If her handlers haven't figured out how to do this by now, they aren't going to.In the final days she has to 1) differentiate herself from Biden based on the information we have today and 2) paint Trump as being incompetent from a mental capacity and dangerous from a Facist/NAZI standpoint who has promised to use the US Army on his opponents.
It is late but everyone has't made up their minds. Nothing is finished until the last lever is pulled.I'm still trying to figure out how she was supposed to do this without angering the Joe loyalists. Yes, they are a thing and would be none too happy to see their guy get thrown under the bus.

2. People who actually believe this already know who they are voting for. At this point, it's preaching to the choir and unlikely to move the needle with independents.
And she may, she may. I'm skeptical of polls and despite some misgivings by others, I think being interviewed on Fox could work in her favor if she does well. Recruiting Obama to talk down to black guys who weren't "all in" on Harris was a risky move that didn't seem to help at all. (In fact, I think it had the opposite of the intended effect.) The "I'm a man" ad didn't do anything, either. It just opened up 5 actors to derision and mockery. It is late but everyone has't made up their minds. We have a lot more information today then was available when they began as President and Vice President. It is a challenge but she has to find a way!
i may be mis-reading this, but i don’t see how her separating herself from biden or not is a moral issue. We almost finished viewing a long Steve Schmidt video today with a Republican and Democratic pollsters dissecting undecided and infrequent voters in the electorate and what antimates their decision process.

And hopefully those who spent the last four years accusing Biden of being mentally impaired will acknowledge Trump's obvious condition rather than being hypocritical equivocators.
I firmly believe that what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If it's Trump's turn to have his mental acuity questioned, so be it. However, for the ones who spent the last four years trying to convince the rest of us not to trust our own lying eyes, maybe sit this one out.
you must be new here, welcome. And hopefully those who spent the last four years accusing Biden of being mentally impaired will acknowledge Trump's obvious condition rather than being hypocritical equivocators.
Not too shabby considering those pesky new Jim Crow 2.0 voting laws!
Pretty much every centrist here that complained about Biden's obvious decline has acknowledged Trump's. The difference is everyone knows Trump won't drop out and maga is gonna maga, so nothing on that side of the equation will change. And hopefully those who spent the last four years accusing Biden of being mentally impaired will acknowledge Trump's obvious condition rather than being hypocritical equivocators.
That's certainly part of it but many, like me, feel that our immigration system is totally screwed up not to mention that we have laws that are not followed.i think it's his/gop bigoted approach to immigration that is appealing to a lot of folks
I don't believe you or anyone else thinks that any one person here made any measurable difference in Biden dropping out - any more than could be made in the case of Trump; so it seems unlikely that change or the ability to effect it is the difference for the so-called centrists of the board obviously treating the two situations very differently.Pretty much every centrist here that complained about Biden's obvious decline has acknowledged Trump's. If that's the measure of the value of these discussions we may as well close this forum down.I don't believe you or anyone else thinks that any one person here made any measurable difference in Biden dropping out - any more than could be made in the case of Trump; so it seems unlikely that change or the ability to effect it is the difference for the so-called centrists of the board obviously treating the two situations very differently.
