Word out of Aubarn is that Freeze is miserable

It would take an epic meltdown for the barn to lose to La Monroe. Possible, but I don't think likely.

I do think they will lose to aTm, and that we should note the margin of aTm's victory.

If it's a remotely competitive game, it means Freeze actually prepared for it. If it's a dope-slapping, it'll heavily indicate that he spent 2-3 weeks preparing for us.

Freeze knows he could go 1-11, and so long as that one is us, he's safe. I have no doubt that he spent the New Mexico State week last year preparing for us, which cost him an embarrassing loss. But the gambit almost worked. If we hadn't gotten stupid lucky, it would have.
What do you think of Iron Bowl?

I never take the barn for granted.

I think we have a better team. But for all his failings, Hugh Freeze can come up with a plan if he has two or three weeks to prepare. Plus, they have a legit defense and Milroe's weaknesses are pretty well known.

Depending on whether he really tries against aTm, Freeze might or might not spend 2 solid weeks preparing for us. If he does, November 30 could be closer than the bettors think.

We cannot walk into Mordor, I mean the Iron Bowl, with a sense of entitlement.

We need to arrive prepped and ready to commit football murder. Expect the kitchen sink, stuff they haven't done all year, and the scripted storm.

Since Jordan, the barn has fired seven consecutive HCs:

Barfield -- fired.
Dye -- fired as part of a settlement with a then-powerful NCAA
Bowden -- fired
Tuberville -- fired
Chizik -- fired
Malzahn -- fired
Harsin -- fired
Freeze -- ????

And that doesn't count two interim HCs that coached multiple regular season games -- Bill Oliver and Cadillac, or Kevin Steele who was interim HC for a bowl game.

Just suppose the barn and Freeze part ways this year or next. What sort of moron would take that job?

I know!!! Ed Orgeron. He's available, and he's a moron. But he's a moron who once beat Nick Saban. Meets all the job requirements. (Note: I debated on whether to use blue font...it was a close call, but I went with it)

The place truly defines dysfunctional.
I thought auburn never fired anyone, but "mutually parted ways".

Certainly can't take them for granted...........weird voodoo things happen in that game............I do like the fact we have them in Tuscaloosa this time around, and I think we win this one, but I want to demolish them to leave no doubt

If Pittman is fired (and I think he will be), I have a feeling that Petrino will be elevated to HC again. I think auburn has coveted Petrino since his time as an assistant there. The famous flight to Louisville to hire him fell through and Tubs remained their HC.
They have wanted Petrino for awhile. He’s got a little more age on him now, but it would be interesting to see if they go that route.

I think the barn will put up a fight (for a bit) in the Iron Bowl, but it's a completely different animal when it's in Tuscaloosa. They only bring a handful of fans whenever the game is in T Town and that simply won't be enough for their team to feed off of. Plus, if Deboer is unable to beat a bad auburn team at home, that will not bode well for us in future IBs. So I think we take care of business

I am very confident they will handle business from here on out

Yeah, did anyone forget what happened when we walked into Vandy with a sense of entitlement.
Think about it. If at the beginning of the season I said “rank these three…Oklahoma in Norman, Auburn in Tuscaloosa, or Vandy in Nashville…as having the greatest possibility of beating Alabama?”
Certainly Vandy would the last of three. So that right there tells you this team can take nothing for granted. If the “Georgia/LSU” Alabama shows up, then it’s a cakewalk. If the “Vandy/UT” Alabama shows up, we’ve just played both Oklahoma and Auburn into the game.

I sometimes wondered if Saban spent Iron Bowl week prepping for the SEC championship game.
I think he did. 2017 was a perfect example. He saw the way it was going. He knew that auburn beating us and then turning around and winning a rematch against a ticked off Georgia squad the very next week would be a tall order at best. And once Georgia trounced them in the SECCG, Bama was a shoo-in. That's why the performance in the IB was laughably bad that year and yet, we went on to win it all

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
i may be getting out over my skis, but i think deboer is going to get solid performances out of our team to finish out the regular season.
We also now have a legit offensive mind running the show so I don't expect (even with three weeks to prepare) for Auburn to come up with a defensive scheme that stifles our offense for an entire game. I could see it under Saban, because he was more involved on the defensive side of the ball. But CKD is all in on the offense so I don't see that happening. I think the game maybe close to begin with, but unless we crap the bed with turnovers I think we win going away.
