If memory serves, 4 is correct. The first Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa was Dubose’s final year in 2000. Then you’d have had 2002, 2004 and 2006. I remember all of our home games in the series in the nineties taking place at Legion Field.

There were 2 match-ups in "Tuscaloosa" prior to 2000 in 1895 and 1901. We lost both.

I was thinking back over the years and wondering which Bama QBs you could say that Milroe was better than. I came up with Marc Guillion and Spencer Pennington.

The biggest problem with the “Jalen Milroe enigma” is, after a big game, people suddenly proclaim he is the next Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes or Michael Vick.
No…those are QB’s than can run. JM is a TE with great speed masquerading as QB that can sometimes throw…many times to the other team in the worst possible situation.

Uh, that was a response to RBs transferring after the season is over And the offensive philosophy of our coach. Everyone could see #4 was having a bad night. And I agree the backs should carry the ball more than the QB.

That was just it. OU was keying so much on QB run and QB counter that Haynes and Jam were getting 4+ yards straight up the gut.

Haynes and Jam should take Nick Sheridan to court and sue him for “abandonment”.

I'm sure it's already been mentioned but did anyone else notice after JM's 2nd INT that he just didn't even attempt to tackle the guy at all? Am I missing something here? Dumbfounded and didn't notice during the game probably because I was having throwing a hissy fit.

Fastest player on the field and didn’t even try to get an angle and shove him out of the sideline. Just gave a half hearted attempt at tripping him soccer style. Which would just be a penalty.
Almost like he made a business decision reminded me of cam and the superbowl fumble.

It really makes you wonder. How can a football player just allow that to happen and nonchalantly trot back to the sideline? Just baffles me.

I enjoyed Milroe making those long runs against LSU as much as anybody, but after his first few attempts against Oklahoma, it was obvious to me that they were dead set on stopping that play. What's even more frustrating is the play before the screen pass attempt that turned into an interception was the type of play we should have been running all game long. That short pass play was wide open, so why didn't we run more of those types of plays. Instead I saw Milroe just stand there for a few seconds and then run into the middle of the line of scrimmage like he was clueless.

He's not better than McCarron, Sims, I'd argue in alot aspects McElroy, Hurts, Tua, and Jones. THE ONLY Saban QB he would be close to being better at (and I think he is) is Coker. Coker had Derrick Henry who was a generational back and wasn't asked to do as much as Milroe.

Our defense got eaten alive by a QB who ran....our own QB is a running QB....so in practice we dont learn how to defend a running QB....or do we not have live action practice with the 1's on both sides due to fear of injury....you'd think a running QB would be in the wheelhouse for our defense

Honestly, if Milroe ran like Coker did from a physicality standpoint he'd probably be a heck of a lot better.

I’m not exactly a football savant, but let me pose a question: we were well aware OU’s top five receivers were out. We were aware that the Oline was depleted. Even with a QB that isn’t known for his running abilities and you think his strong suit is throwing….YOU STILL LEAN ON THE RUN GAME. It is easier to get those inexperienced lineman run blocking than in pass protection. Your “pass game” is short throws to the backs as a run game extension. This shortens the game and gives a banged up, beat up team like this OU the best chance at success. Which is exactly what they did.

Question: Given the above, what it the name of all that is holy was Wommack and our defensive staff thinking? I am just absolutely baffled at how often we stayed in a three man front and dropped coverage only to get absolutely gashed. Vandy 2.0…..the recurring nightmare.

Then we ran zone reads and QB runs/counters into their 6/7 man fronts. We would have better off letting 12 year old that plays Madden on the weekends game plan for OU.

And Jackson Arnold was not suppose* to a running QB? I’ll be damned if we didn’t make him look like a Johnny Football reincarnate.

Not baffling to me. Disappointing, yes, but not baffling at all. Really sad what our team has devolved into.

What type of twilight episode is this where a team beats us by 21 points and has a QB that only passed for less than 100 yards and they ran at will against us? The offensive and defensive adjustments in this game were abysmal.

I think this is a key point. I think the coaches are asking Milroe to do too much. Reduce the number of QB runs and let our RBs carry the load. Reduce the number of reads in the passing game and make it really simple. But, basically, when your QB is struggling, lean on the RBs to carry the weight.

Seems like everyone except for our coaching staff knew that OU would sell out to stop Milroe from running all over them and that we'd have to beat them throwing the ball.

I have very serious concerns about our game planning and our completely non-existent adjustments during the game.

If the game plan is working, we cruise...if it isn't working, we either can't or won't adjust, and we lose.

We're paying a lot of people a lot of money to not do their jobs.

Seems like the plan Saturday should have been to run the ball with the backs to set up some passes.

Idk much about football, but I know enough to know that our game plan was awful on both sides of the ball and we did nothing to adjust to what they were doing.

I can't remember the last time a Bama team was so poorly coached and played so poorly.

This weekend was an all-around total disaster.

I just watched CKD's post-game presser. I know he doesn't want to criticize his players too much or throw anyone under the bus, but I almost felt like he was at a different game than the one I watched.
