Is there a scenario where we still back into the playoffs?

Because there were two, now just one of the ringleaders behind lank still here. Once they are no longer wearing the crimson jersey their influence will be reduced considerably.

I also suspect DeBoer is smart enough to recognize that he played into this and decides it's time to stop the foolishness once the season is over. Perhaps I'm wish-casting, but I doubt Milroe is back at Bama next year. That alone would change the lank dynamic dramatically.
There is enormous chatter going on that we could have a mass exodus of skill position players if Milroe comes back. RW was probably the most mad coming off the field because of the performance than just about everyone else. I know a few people on the sidelines every game who indicated Haynes and RW were absolutely not happy with the lack of opportunities that they got Saturday. its also telling that some of our coaches are starting to follow high value quarterbacks that are expected to hit the transfer portal in the coming weeks.

I think it’s beyond obvious that unless we luck into a playoff then the Auburn game is Milroe’s last game in crimson. There is far too much talent to lose to appease a ball hog
Lank in an of itself isn't an issue, and something like it is probably present in a lot of the blue-blood programs with well-known players.

The use of lank to leverage or support particular players is an issue. Once Milroe is no longer QB at Bama, it won't matter if lank continues to send checks to players (they're gonna get their fake NIL from somewhere), unless those checks allow undue influence on the players as a whole, which I doubt will happen since the two primary players who started the thing will no longer be working alongside the team day in and out.
LANK on the surface is a stupid travel ball softball slogan that most people become embarrassed to be associated with after they get back to their high school teams. Good on Milroe to make it work for him financially but like @B1GTide said last year once it became obvious that it was a clique thing more than a team motivation thing… it needs to die before it gets too out of hand.

Looking at this rivalry week schedule, we need these teams to lose.
Tennessee, Texas A&M,BYU, and Miami
Whoever makes the SEC championship game, we need the lower ranked team to get completely thrashed?

Realistically, I know we're not up to par to win a championship, but that's all we have to hope for this last game.
We won't go very far if we make it. It would take a miracle but after 2011, 2012, and 2017, I don't discount those automatically.

I only want us to make it now to see heads explode and for all the advocates of the 12-team playoff to cry in their beers about, "But THREE-LOSS TEAMS shouldn't make the CFB playoff!"

Yeah, it's what we told you would happen.

What I find hilarious, but not, is that since they started using LANK they have failed to let the naysayers know. Oh, sure, for a single game here and there but, on a whole, for those ultimate goals and prizes, they have failed at almost every turn. Knowing this Bama team, they'd probably sneak into the playoffs lose to IU in the first round.

I expect Alabama to be ranked 13th in the CFP. If you are, all you need is for Texas to beat aTm to preserve that spot, and one team in front of you to lose. Clemson, SMU and Miami - need one to drop back. That will happen. So just beat Auburn decisively and you are in.

As for not deserving - there will be at least 5 teams in the playoffs who you would destroy. If they deserve to be in it, so does Alabama.

For every LANK kid on the team there are 10 others who are working hard and deserve our support.

When we didn't win the NC last year it should have died...but somehow the stupid acronym lived on!

FWIW, Allstate Playoff Predictor says we beat the barn and there's a 41% chance. If you look at team by team likelihood, that's right about 12th best chance...by a good 7 or 8% over #13.

So...it would be far less shocking to make the playoff than it would seem it should be.

Oh, they've let us know plenty... it's just a lot different than what they think

Yeah the thing is we’d at best slip in at 12 and have to play a road game vs the 5 seed.

Hypothetically that would be the #1 (at-large) Non Conf Champion or a #2 ConfCG Runner-Up

ON THE ROAD

We’ve seen what these dudes bring on the road vs Vandy and a 5-5 (1-5) team.

Lol

We’d get Skull Dragged and miss a huge opportunity to get ready for 2025 via a lower bowl with mass opt outs.

Give me the Duke’s Mayo Gator Weed Whacker Bowl please so we can get better going forward.

I’ll add to the replies that didn’t mention the following:
LANK also is involved in the ongoing talks between Israel and Hamas and trying to reach a peaceful solution to the war currently taking place in the Ukraine involving Russia. They have lobbyists currently working with congressional members on issues not limited to climate change, alternative energy sources and a myriad of other projects that could benefit mankind.
To say that LANK is limited solely as an NIL entity is grossly misleading. I absolutely believe that LANK may evolve into a major third political party within the next decade. Simply amazing to say the least.
Well done.

I would love to see it happen just to make Danny Kanell explode on X.

If we do sneak in would we deserve it? No

Do I care if we didn’t deserve it? Absolutely not

Even if we lose by 30 to ND or Ohio State, I’d rather see them compete in the postseason for a chance at a National Title than play in some bowl game at 4:15 on a Tuesday afternoon where half the team will play.

I’ll watch pretty much any game Bama FB plays but I now have little to no expectations of outcome therefore I don’t care one way or the other.

Just be consistent. Don’t show capabilities just to relax and feel entitled next outing cuz you did SO GOOD the week before. This fickle team is wearing this old man out!

How would history view a 3 loss Alabama team that won the 12 team playoff in the years after?

Would be interesting, like how 2017 is viewed.

Lol who cares? Ask any idiot what he thinks about our 2020 title, and he’ll tell you it has an asterisk. Nevermind the fact that we were literally the most unstoppable offense of all time, and would have beaten EVERY team in the country.
