UGA will likely be a top 8 team on Tuesday and USCe will likely be a top 13 team. That’s better than #’s 23 & 20. That’s my only point.

I guess what I'm saying is that those are "cherry-picked" delineators. Someone probably beat a Top 19 team more than once, too. But what does that really matter?

I believe that results on the field are what matters first and foremost. And I know I can make any statistic work in my favor if I just inch the goalposts a bit.

What’s not to follow, nothing could be the BCS formula, , the Harris Interactive poll no longer exists. It was used as part of the BCS formula along with The coaches poll and the Sagarin ratings.

DeBoer inherited a much better team for his first year than Saban or Smart did.

I get all that but maybe some Bama fans had too unrealistic expectations for DeBoer for Y1.

Like I said I am not unhappy about how Y1 went for DeBoer. New team, new conference and a definite culture shock.

I met Malachi at a HS game when he was a junior at Hewitt-Trussville. Really nice kid. Not one you would think would have those type penalties.

I mean...you do realize you made the statement that if they used the BCS, Bama would make the playoffs, right? And then when I pointed out that basic Data Science proved your statement inaccurate because it puts Bama at #13, you stated it is impossible to know what the BCS would have predicted because the Harris no longer exists?

Surely you see an inconsistency here.

Malachi played a heck of a game!! I have very close friends that go to church with his family in Trussville.

I know he got a bad rep from the Vandy game. He let his emotions get the best of him. He’s a good guy and comes from a good family. He is ALL Bama. RTR

No, we as fans didn’t have unrealistic expectations. If they lost to Georgia, Wisconsin being early on the road with a young team and maybe LSU in Baton Rouge. But they won those games. It’s not that they lost but the way they lost. Undisciplined , unprepared, unaware.

I agree with this.The Vandy (and frankly, UT) loss was unacceptable. Oklahoma was LA Monroe levels of bad...but at least Saban gave some indications during ULM week that things could be rough.

Just about everyone on TideFans predicted 9-3 for DeBoer's first year.
