I’m just wondering what a victim of Russian disinformation to interfere with the 2020 election needs to be pardoned for.
I was told the dems were above all this, but it's good to see more folks realizing it's long been a race to the bottom. At this point, why wouldn't he? We're going to have a convicted felon become president of the united states, so there is no reason to stand behind your word when doing so means nothing in the eyes of the people. If I was Biden, I would do the same thing and have zero regrets.
Thank you! This has been an ongoing problem for far too long now. If the winner of the presidential race fills you with crippling anxiety, it's a sure sign that the executive has WAY too much power. Not a fan of the expansion of executive branch power in my lifetime. Period.
...with full recognition that no small part of it is due to the vacuum created by legislative branch abdicating responsibility for actually governing.
...with full recognition that an increasing number of folks are elected to the legislative branch not to carefully consider how to govern, but to screech and be a caricature.
Issuing pardons is not an expansion of power for the executive branch, that power as been there from the beginning. The first Presidential pardon was issued by George Washington on November 2, 1795.Not a fan of the expansion of executive branch power in my lifetime. Period.
And?"We" just elected a felon/molester/insurrectionist. This is mere child's play in comparison. I'm not a fan of the action, but clearly Hunter was just a tool for the right to hurt/distract Biden. Same as it ever was though. If we went after the rest of Congress for their crimes in an even handed, justice is blind way, we wouldn't even have quorum in January.
Please don't be disingenuous. Hunter Biden wasn't prosecuted for profiting from his father's position in politics. And?
So let me get this straight: the Republicans encouraged Hunter Biden to profit off his father’s position in American politics to distract Joe Biden?
Talk about playing the long game.
as if honesty matters to them, come onPlease don't be disingenuous. Hunter Biden wasn't prosecuted for profiting from his father's position in politics.
Yeah, you've been criticizing both sides for years. As have I. As has every other non-donkey tribalist here. Funny how loyalty to the tribe makes one lose all powers of basic comprehension. Add in the whataboutism for extra amusement. But, at least there is finally acknowledgment that both sides suck. Making progress!LOL, I've been there for years and have been open about it here.
Unlike some, I've not seen it as binary for a long time. While I lean conservative, I see both parties as totally corrupt.
The fact that you're admitting the dems are also corrupt does seem like a breakthrough, though. Glad to see that.
To be fair, I don't think Vegetable Joe remembers what he had for breakfast, much less what he said over and over and over and over again.
Yet. That doesn't mean that the possibility didn't exist. If I'm remembering correctly, the "sweetheart" plea deal offered to Hunter included protections against prosecution for "influence peddling" if he pleaded guilty to the tax charges. The judge didn't allow this of course, so presumably the possibility was still on the table up until yesterday. Please don't be disingenuous. Hunter Biden wasn't prosecuted for profiting from his father's position in politics.
Please stop obfuscating. Hunter Biden wasn't prosecuted for profiting from his father's position, he was prosecuted for tax evasion for attempting to hide over $1M of those earnings from the IRS. Would the IRS prosecute me if I did the same thing? Absolutely. You too. Please don't be disingenuous. Hunter Biden wasn't prosecuted for profiting from his father's position in politics.
What was the obfuscation? Read the post to which i was responding. Please stop obfuscating. The obfuscation was your post's attempt to frame the prosecution of Hunter as political. The gun charges? Maybe. I could see many a prosecutor dropping something like this. The tax evasion? No way. Any ordinary citizen would go to the slammer for knowingly not reporting over $1M in income on their tax return. Of this I am certain. What was the obfuscation? Read the post to which i was responding.
Also, don't forget the gun charge.
nah, you are missing the point entirely.Primary takeaway from this thread: it’s OK to do bad stuff if the people you disagree with do it too.
