Reminds me a bit of 2021, with Metchie and Williams. Except the reason was that no other receiver could catch the ball.
And it carried forward through most of 2022. Imagine having a QB with the accuracy of Bryce Young and nobody can catch the ball. Oh what might have been.

Let them leave. This version of Alabama was probably the most selfish, stubborn and self-serving version. Maybe we’ll look back on this and see that it was a positive turning point.
I share your sentiments, but I’m afraid the days of Major Ogilvie playing for the love of Alabama are long gone. It’s pretty much the same everywhere else, too. There’s very little loyalty to anything but the greenback anymore.

The coaching staff said many things after losses that have me concerned going into next season
I kept expecting him to say "this turnip has no more blood. We got major problems!" But that wouldn't have gone over too well. ;)

DeBoer has a very different way of communicating that is just plain foreign to us. He's very guarded in what he says and is always positive. Jury is still out on whether or not he can meet expectations here. But it's almost 100% that a new Coaching turnover is going to have some unexpected potholes in the road. And the mass exodus with these new rules was probably unprecedented. He did good to keep as many as he did.

This is huge concern for me. We got some guys on this staff that better wake up and come to the full knowledge that Alabama and SEC football fans aren’t stupid. Some of the arrogant and condescending comments when asked pertinent questions about play calling and decision making this year after games was ridiculous. Snarky remarks and coach speak ain’t gonna play here.

We can gripe all we want about players. But the undisciplined play, situational screw ups and player arrogance was a direct reflection of this staff.

I think every team will suffer the lack of playing for your state school out of pure love, the bigger issue is they have killed the sport going for the money. And when I say they, I mean ESPN, CFP, Sankey (yes, Greg Sankey), SEC/B1G greed, conference realignment and these corporate sponsors.

DeBoer better be a great recruiter. Otherwise he will not make it. How much he knows about football is a small percentage of what CNS brought with him to Alabama.

I’m kinda similar now in my attitude to players staying like Wimp Sanderson was about players in his program graduating.

Wimp was once asked “So Coach, how many of your players are graduating?” Wimp replied “Every one of them that WANTS to….”

Same here for me. If you see a greener pasture, and you don’t like your situation here, be gone. I want the guys here that WANT to be here.

Good bye…thank you for playing the game. Hopefully you’ll get some lovely parting gifts on the way out the door.
I'm guessing most of us feel the same. A lot of the time, we don't know about any issues until a player jumps in the portal so it can still be a shock and disappointment at that moment.
