Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
Sadly I think this is a Q2 win as they are about 32-33 in most ratings. But hopefully it becomes a Q1 later this year.
The big one is the NET, and they’re 73rd there. Just *barely* makes it Q2. I don’t see any path to recovery for it. Outside of Marquette and UConn there is very little opportunity to recover in Big East play as it is not a strong conference this year.

The main thing is that the SEC (excluding LSU) got what we needed today, winning every noncon game and especially going 3-0 against the B1G. The more teams we cluster in Q1 the less the SEC bloodbath will hurt us.

I hate to say it out loud, but this team is not going to the Final Four shooting the three the way they are right now. IDK what's happened to it. I know we lost our best outside guy, but Youngblood is supposed to be even better. I hope he can make up the difference. We had two air balls tonight, one by Youngblood himself, I think. Outside Sears, has anyone 3 percentage improved over last season, even our transfers. I thought Holloways had, but know, IDK...

it’s still super early, and so much of a deep run is “who gets hot at the right time” and I think Bama still hasn’t put together a complete game. It’s still ahead of them.

the main thing is to ensure you get there and with a decent seed. After that let the chaos sort itself out.

I agree with you right now. This team is not consistent enough on the offensive end to be a Final 4 team yet. I was watching Youngblood pregame warming up, and he was consistently hitting his 3's. I'm about to the point where Oats needs to find 7 or 8 players and go with them if we are going to get any consistency on offense.

In warmups it looked like they were shooting the three really well. I don’t think that I saw Youngblood miss. Sherrell hit several too. The game tips and then clank.

Lackluster dub, sloppy play, no discipline.
Not sure about what you mean by “no discipline”?

We had a low number of turnovers. Minimal fouls. No visible drama. We played an elite defense last night. We shot really bad from 3, they had one guy get hot and make 4/5. That easily could have been a 20+ pt win. Instead it was 8. And KP and Torvik game them a 96 game score out of 100.

If you are referring to all of the dribble drive penetration, and one on one work, that was Nate’s game plan. They were thin with depth, so, he didn’t call many ball screens last night. So he was giving his guys the freedom to take their guys one on one.

Sometimes this game is deeper than what you may see on the surface.

Frankly, it probably doesn’t matter what Creighton’s ranking is, SOS should not be a problem for Alabama. It won’t matter if Creighton is a quad 4. Probably have ~ 15+ quad one opportunities this year.

Every year Alabama starts this way, then Oats stops his experimenting and tinkering and things turn out well. This year’s laboratory is complicated by having 11 legitimate pieces rather than the usual 6-8. In 3 of the last 4 years: Either SEC reg season & tourney title or final 4 appearance.

Hopefully, he will shortly begin to tighten up his rotations causing roles to be defined, thus more consistency of play, D and shooting.

Nate usually gets the best out of shooters and this team has many: Sears, Youngblood, Mallette, Holloway, with more potentially good ones in Philon and Reid, then Stevenson and Sherrill, even Grant maybe/occasionally. If this team starts hitting shots at just an average clip, can anyone play with them, if they get hot it’s over home or away. It’s hard to believe they will remain this cold.

You're right, of course, and now that's going to be football also...

Well, we're going to lose a bunch to transfer in any event, because we're actually "over-rostered" with talent. However, cut it to a 7 or 8 rotation, and there will be a mass exodus. Also, with the inevitable injuries, we'd be bound to be shorthanded at the end of the season...

Didn’t not expect any negativity on the board this morning lol it was another great win. Normally I would say we are seeing what this years team will be BUT we lost one and working two new guys in still. So this year it’s still early and the team is still in early development. The 3 percentage is a little concerning but the d has been a huge improvement from last year which is a great sign as D travels. Anything negative now is over critical at this point as this is easily a top 10 as is. Long way to go guys enjoy!

I love having a big roster. I love taking the first 15 minutes to go 10-11 deep and see who has the hot hand. I love being able to go small. I love being able to go big. I love being able to go old. I love being able to go young. I love being able to go fast. I love being able to slow it down. And with 11 guys on the team, they can all log minutes, you have so many combinations that you can totally stress out the other team, and you can play to almost any style.

We don’t need to look like a final four team right now. We need to look like a final four team in March.

Right now we are light years ahead of where we were last year. Miller’s year, we peaked way too early.
