One plus from sabbs injury is it afforded Hubbard to get valuable live game experience. Sabb won't miss a beat and having both on the field looks like it's going to be a stout combo on defense.
That will be a good combo but don't forget about Zay Mincey. Will be a star. Going to be stiff competition for the nickel and dime spots.

I really would like to see one of our defensive linemen step up and be a disruptor next season. I think the back end of our defense will be solid in coverage, but if we want a dominant defense it starts at the DL.
We have one that has shown out the last half of the season and it is James Smith (#23). Going to explode this year and off to the NFL.

Seeing the players that are coming back, and those that have moved on, I am very excited for the 2025 team. I remember Clemson being able to keep several key players after the 2015 season that led to their 2016 title, Georgia was able to keep a ton of guys on their D after the 2021 season that led to their repeat, and Michigan last year was a very senior heavy team.

There will be a change in leadership in the locker room, which is probably for the best, and hopefully these guys that are coming back take that leadership role to the next level. I hope choosing who goes to Media Days is a difficult task for DeBoer.

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
My only concern is that no one was able to beat him out this year so how good can our options be? I don't think we have an incoming true freshman who is an obvious option unless I'm misremembering our cass
I'll take my chances with someone else. I already know what I've got in Pritchett. It's time to invest in someone else and see what they can do.

I would say there is some truth to it. A great RB isn't worth much if the OL is bad or overmatched. A bad RB can have a lot of success with an elite OL.
And a great RB can win the Heisman

Formby has the body type and arm length you want in a tackle. He was a RS freshman this past year and will get stronger and gain more experience. Hopefully he will develop into a good one and pulling for him since he is a T'town kid.

Yeah. He's definitely the favorite at this point. Would be very happy to see him step up and succeed

Ppl just look at their HS star ranking.
And which program they came from with stats too.

Oatis ranking still has me side eyeing

I highly doubt anyone is breaking down film with how quickly things are happening in the portal.

I had hopes that Pritchett would stay and compete in spring, but there's clearly some needs for improvement at that position. I was hoping it can be internally and still could be internal improvement with Formby, or one of these transfers.... They all are able to improve. But they will also continue to look at the portal for some guys that are still playing for their backups to exit or spring Portal for somebody that's not happy. With a pocket QB it is a must to get better play. Better run game for play action and pass blocking period.

Yet rated the #4 tackle in the portal...
Just guessing, but it appears that a good bit of the “portal ranking” is based on their HS “recruiting ranking”. Pritchett was a 5 star according to some in his HS rankings. As is in many cases they miss by a mile. Alabama has let 4 HS 5 stars go this off season: Pritchett, Haynes, ?Oatis?, ?. They miss on many, does not mean they are worthless, but for any specific player to depend on their evaluation is foolish. A personal observation: I thought Haynes was a can’t miss prospect and couldn’t wait til others left so he could show his stuff. You just never know.

Btw, it’s not Pritchett’s fault that he was misevaluated and hopefully he will find success elsewhere. It’s unfortunate that some will say he is throwing away his talent or that Alabama did not do a good job developing him. In reality, it appears that he was simply misevaluated. It’s a rare talent and even real experts like Saban miss close to 50%. Especially for OL & QBs.

I wonder how far out we are from the establishment of a system whereby there is some sort of player trading mechanism between schools? I suppose that that would have to be preceded by employment agreements between the players and schools and/or a formal farm system established between the universities and NFL franchises. Imagine. Alabama as a formal farm team for the Green Bay Packers. Are we headed in that direction? Maybe not as far fetched as it might have once seemed.
