If you are trying to quote my analysis of REC scrimmages then that was 2024 spring scrimmages since the fall scrimmages were closed off because DeBoer allegedly wanted to put in different formations that he didn’t want the public to see. Or that is how they broke the news to the REC.I thought the reports coming out of the fall scrimmages in 2024 was that Ty was operating the offense very good and milroe was struggling with blitz packages where Ty was having success against them. If I recall wommack had to reign in the blitz packages because milroe was struggling.
Edited to add that it was also reported the 2nd string receivers had a big drop off and any QB with them was handicapped compared to the 1st team receivers.
But yes everything in that analysis aside from it being Spring instead of fall is what I said nearly word for word. Wommack and Mo’s blitzes had to be dialed back for Milroe to go through his progressions.
But what I’m getting at with Ty is that if he was ever going to beat out Milroe then 2023 Spring was his best chance. But he decided to try to compete with Milroe’s arm strength instead of going through his reads. It basically lead to Saban sitting both of them down and saying “we will support it if you decide to transfer out because we are going to get another quarterback in the portal since neither of you could separate from one another”. I’m worried that Ty is always going to be that guy from 2023 who “just isn’t ready and overthinks things”. He doesn’t strike me as a Mac who was just playing behind a generational quarterback or else he would be starting. I think it’s more likely that Ty is/was a better passer than Milroe but has serious warts in other areas that never allowed his passing to decide that he should have been the quarterback
