I respect your opinion, but this is not the program to repeat failed experiments. Good coach's don't need elite talent to be a good coach, it's time to bring a successfully proven play caller.
Maybe, but you do need a qb who can actually read a defense, read a single player on an RPO and be able to do more than throw the ball 60 yrds down the field on a consistent basis, slide protections and understand route concepts. You don't have a qb who can do that and it really doesn't matter who is calling the plays. The QB can't execute.

What Kiffin did with Blake Sims was nothing short of miraculous. I say this as a huge Blake Sims fan.
I think you can probably credit that to the relationship and trust between the two. Blake was committed to Kiffin at Tennessee. When Kiffin left for USC, Blake Sims was one of the first recruits he called trying to get him to follow him to USC. Blake decided to go to Bama.

To this day, Sims still talks fondly of Kiffin. The two guys just truly like each other.

Blake wanted to do well for himself, but he also wanted to do well because he trusted Lane.

Can we close this thread until we get any kind of legitimate Grubbs info, relative to his employment at bama? Lol.

In all seriousness, it’s interesting on the lack of staff turnover. Maybe it’s because we are used to the CNS school of misfit coaches rehab program vs our current transformation. Unless we are waiting for the CFP to end before changes are made?

This is strictly my opinion:

I think Grubb will join Bama Staff, but Sheridan will still call plays on the field. he might get a "Special assistant" title. Putting Grubb together with Sheridan is a good thing for everyone involved. Sheridan will learn how to call the right play in the right situation. Grubb will also take his time to learn SEC defense and I think three minds together is dangerous than having one mind.

Honestly.... Don't expect any coaching changes until after signing day in Feb.... if there is one, it'll be small changes.

Any chance for Co-coordinator title?

I think Shepard currently is already Co-OC with Sheridan….which complicates issues even more.

Somebody will have to be demoted, and who knows how that will sit…
Easy fix. Everybody gets a “co-coordinator title” along with their position group assignments. Kind of like everyone getting juice boxes, a snack and a participation trophy.

Let me add: Put me firmly in the camp wanting to bring Grubb back, and give him play-calling duties.

I think his history working with DeBoer, and likewise results, speaks for itself.

Offer Sheridan and Shepard reduced roles, and let the chips fall where they may.

If we made one halftime adjustment on offense this season I didn’t see it.

If the game-plan worked, it worked. If it didn’t , it didn’t.

We had a DC and two co-DCs last year. Not sure exactly how that works, but DeBoer likes to give Co titles.
