It's either that or they want to stay in Seattle..............FWIW his wife has denied that was ever a factor.

How old is he? Hard to imagine he's just gonna quit coaching and live there. It's either that or they want to stay in Seattle..............
Kiffin had Sims, Coker, and freshman Hurts. Granted I would take any of them over Milroe, but at the same time I think credit goes to Kiffin for getting them to perform as well as he did.Top three had big time quarterback talent, Sheridan not so much.
Maybe, but you do need a qb who can actually read a defense, read a single player on an RPO and be able to do more than throw the ball 60 yrds down the field on a consistent basis, slide protections and understand route concepts. You don't have a qb who can do that and it really doesn't matter who is calling the plays. The QB can't execute.I respect your opinion, but this is not the program to repeat failed experiments. Good coach's don't need elite talent to be a good coach, it's time to bring a successfully proven play caller.
Sims, Coker and Hurts could at least read a single DE to decide to give or keep........Kiffin had Sims, Coker, and freshman Hurts. Granted I would take any of them over Milroe, but at the same time I think credit goes to Kiffin for getting them to perform as well as he did.
He couldn't have done ANYTHING with Milroe...Kiffin had Sims, Coker, and freshman Hurts. Granted I would take any of them over Milroe, but at the same time I think credit goes to Kiffin for getting them to perform as well as he did.
Would have been some interesting player/coach dynamics..... Reckon he would have been signaling touchdown on the sideline before the ball was thrown? He couldn't have done ANYTHING with Milroe...![]()
For the other team?Would have been some interesting player/coach dynamics..... Reckon he would have been signaling touchdown on the sideline before the ball was thrown?
Kiffin would never had been able to hold his tongue and temper having to dumb down his offense for JM. He’d have been shown the door a lot sooner than he was.He couldn't have done ANYTHING with Milroe...![]()
What Kiffin did with Blake Sims was nothing short of miraculous. I say this as a huge Blake Sims fan.Kiffin had Sims, Coker, and freshman Hurts. Granted I would take any of them over Milroe, but at the same time I think credit goes to Kiffin for getting them to perform as well as he did.
I think you can probably credit that to the relationship and trust between the two. Blake was committed to Kiffin at Tennessee. When Kiffin left for USC, Blake Sims was one of the first recruits he called trying to get him to follow him to USC. Blake decided to go to Bama. What Kiffin did with Blake Sims was nothing short of miraculous. I say this as a huge Blake Sims fan.
Honestly.... Don't expect any coaching changes until after signing day in Feb.... if there is one, it'll be small changes. Can we close this thread until we get any kind of legitimate Grubbs info, relative to his employment at bama? Lol.
In all seriousness, it’s interesting on the lack of staff turnover. Maybe it’s because we are used to the CNS school of misfit coaches rehab program vs our current transformation. Unless we are waiting for the CFP to end before changes are made?
Any chance for Co-coordinator title? This is strictly my opinion:
I think Grubb will join Bama Staff, but Sheridan will still call plays on the field. he might get a "Special assistant" title. Putting Grubb together with Sheridan is a good thing for everyone involved. Sheridan will learn how to call the right play in the right situation. Grubb will also take his time to learn SEC defense and I think three minds together is dangerous than having one mind.
Any chance for Co-coordinator title?
Easy fix. Everybody gets a “co-coordinator title” along with their position group assignments. Kind of like everyone getting juice boxes, a snack and a participation trophy.I think Shepard currently is already Co-OC with Sheridan….which complicates issues even more.
Somebody will have to be demoted, and who knows how that will sit…
Wasn't Joe Brady the "passing game coordinator" for lsu? maybe we can just make up a title for Grubb?Easy fix. Everybody gets a “co-coordinator tile” along with their position group assignments. Kind of like everyone getting juice boxes, a snack and a participation trophy.
We had a DC and two co-DCs last year. Not sure exactly how that works, but DeBoer likes to give Co titles.I think Shepard currently is already Co-OC with Sheridan….which complicates issues even more.
