Happy for him. Hope he has a great life ahead in retirement!

Back in 2007, I was at the Arkansas game and we thought we had farted that game away so we left our seats, but when we got down to field level to leave through the tunnel JP Wilson and company had started that game winning drive to that end of the field. We stood there to watch it unfold. I happened to look around and there stood Julio about 10 feet away with some other recruits who had come to the game. I had been following his recuitment so I knew exactly who he was. It was kinda surreal! Then, after the game ended as we start to walk out I almost bump into him. I remember myself saying, "How's it going Julio?"

I don't remember if he answered, but I'd say it went pretty well!

I was watching a YouTube highlight reel of him this morning. The fastest to 10k yards receiving in NFL history. For about 8 years or so he was the best in the league. But, as we saw when he was at Alabama, he was injury prone. His career really tapered off after that point.

I hate it he never got a Super Bowl ring. But he has to be a hall of famer, right? It is rare to see someone so athletically gifted also be so incredibly disciplined. He was truly one of the greats and perhaps was the singular recruit who got the Nick Saban train rolling.
