Acuna calls out Braves for not disciplining Kelenic

Ronald Acuna Jr. took to social media Sunday to criticize the way Braves manager Brian Snitker handled Jarred Kelenic being thrown out at second base after failing to hustle out of the batter's box on a long drive Saturday.

Acuna should have not tweeted. He’s 1000% correct that kelenic should have been yanked. Snitker says he didnt see the play until today and had talked to K about it. Regardless, Kelenic should not have been playing today.

I can’t agree more. Acuna should have bit his tongue. You talk to Snit first. But Acuna is right. He got his rear yanked a few years back for pulling an almost identical bonehead play.

And you’re correct that Snit should sat Kelenic today.

Snitker publicly called out Acuna in 2019:

“He didn’t run,” Snitker said. “You’ve got to run. It’s not going to be acceptable here. As a teammate, you’re responsible for 24 other guys, and that name on the front is a lot more important than that name on the back of that jersey. You can’t do that. We’re trying to accomplish something special here. Personal things have to be put on the back burner.”

Acuna is right.

But the situation was handled poorly by Snitker both times.

I know Acuna is frustrated, and he's 100% correct on hustle - but that's Snit's job, not Acuna's, too.
