It’s amazing how quiet some members of the board are on this….I got banned for 3 months by a MAGA [censored] in the Trump “assassination” thread for just participating as a Democrat and not a peep from those people. So I guess that is where we are as a nation.
Wow, It’s Saturday, not everyone lives for Tidefans, Not on a non sports weekend anyway. I don’t know you, but from your angry words, maybe you should take a Saturday off too. At least back away and take a breath.

If you need to discuss, I will talk with you. I’m not MAGA , but I’m not a Dem either.

For the record, I unreservedly condemn this. (No "yeah, buts..." or "what abouts ...")
If I knew where the perp was, I'd cll the cops.
If I had known what this a-hole was planning, I'd have called the cops.
Actually, they had an interview with his roommate, who said he couldn't imagine Boelter doing this. It looked to be the front yard of a house. IDK, how large their quarters were, but we keep hearing over and over the same tune from parents and others, claiming to know nothing. It sure seems like a lot of this crap gets planned right under the noses of people living with the perp. They're all deaf, dumb and blind, I guess...

Well, some of us were at a baseball game and not on here yesterday, but I made sure to hop on here and say, "I condemn an act no decent human being would ever endorse" right here.

Let's be clear: this guy should hang for shooting (and killing) anyone, much less two elected persons in the state of Minnesota. I have no qualm with a fairly applied death penalty to a demonstrably guilty killer.

Political violence is not the way to solve ANY of our problems. Ever. And I don't want to live in a country where this becomes as normal as it does in some other places on the globe. And while most shootings of politicians are NOT ideological or even really political, this one does appear to be so.

for just participating as a Democrat and not a peep from those people. So I guess that is where we are as a nation.
I'm just gonna politely make the point that here's what you said mere minutes after Trump was shot:
Well whatever happened, he’s alive and I’m still not voting for him.

(You didn't seem overly concerned in condemning shootings at that point so maybe show a little grace).

This shooting - so far as we know now (and it may change) is 100% the fault of Vance Boelter.
Not Donald Trump, not the GOP, not the evangelical church, not his security organization, and not because Sarah Palin ran a commercial Boelter didn't see before shooting.

Well, you probably remember this (I don't, but I've read), but Lee Harvey Oswald's mother went the "Lee was always a good boy" route, but his own brother (Robert, who died in 2017) said their mother loved them but did a lousy job of raising Lee (in particular), in part because she would transfer schools and side with him when he found trouble.

I don't know how much of this is "don't know" and how much is "don't want to know" or "don't want to admit I know."

I think you've hit it in the last paragraph. Just call it "willful ignorance"...

There's another dynamic at play.

Let me put it like this: MANY more people inside the inner corridor of the Clinton White House at a minimum SUSPECTED there was something unusual about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky, not a flat out ("it's obvious!") but enough of "something doesn't add up there." But as one reporter said at the time, they were keeping their mouths shut to avoid subpoenas and attorney fees and having to testify under oath in a case that couldn't possibly help them out.

Of course, if that were the case with Boelter, his buddy could just say......nothing.

The other thing is the ability in our perverse society to get book deals and TV appearances. The more you hold close to the vest, the more someone wants you to give them the key that will break the whole case.

He cried the whole time and said that he wished he'd known so he could have intervened. In fairness, the perp was in the security business, so the tactical gear might not have been so unusual...

Of course, we just don't know that much yet but, I just read a report which makes it seem as if the whole bunch---family and roommates---is a little out of the mainstream. Is he divorced? Why does he have roommates? https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/minnesota-shooting-suspect-vance-boelter-rcna213125

Apparently he rented a room in a house in Minneapolis. It looks like a crash pad with six renters each in a room. He used this room when he had a job to do in the city. SWAT team stormed the house early morning. He texted his roommate to say he won't return and didn't want to get them involved.

I truly hope he is taken alive and publicly tried. I have a feeling he will be conveniently killed during an arrest attempt and, too bad, nobody can find out anything about him. I REALLY hate that Timothy McVeigh was permitted to be executed. I wonder what we could have learned from him after years in prison. Athough, perhaps he would have been another James Earl Ray.

I started to point out your optimism. Usually, all that's learned beyond what LEO already know. After they're put away, a long chess match/bargaining session ensues, usually stretched over a period of years, for bits and pieces of info. In this case, there's a lot publicly known because of his preaching here and in Africa...

I'm wondering if he'll take his own life before anyone can get to him.

Sorta doesn't square with the cowardly acts he has committed.

But you never know with nutjobs like this!
