4* QB Jett Thomalla commits to Bama

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

Looking at his highlights, does anyone else think he looks a bit like Gary Hollingsworth? That release just looks so familiar.

I'm glad we're continuing to recruit high level QB's. I have a feeling (just my gut) that Ty will have a very good year, but will return for his senior season to up his draft status and he's not going to be asked to leave by our staff. One or both of the QB's behind Ty will transfer.

I believe Ty is gone after this season. His stock will rise if he continues to ball out throughout the season. Mack is the most likely to transfer. Russell is the future and is biding his time.

I don't know, I think Ty will have to be a finalist in the Heisman for him to be considered a first round draft pick next season. Which means he will have to basically ball out the rest of the season. Several NFL teams have recently gotten burned on taking QB's in the first round who only had one year as a starter. Trey Lance and Anthony Richardson come to mind. I have no doubt he would get drafted, but unless he just absolutely balls out the rest of the year, I'm not sure he can elevate himself into a legitimate first round pick on just one year of being a starter. But I've been wrong before.

Ty doesn't need to go first round to leave. It may benefit him dropping to the later rounds and go to a team where he can learn the ropes and the nuisances of the NFL before starting anywhere.

Is this something thats public knowledge that Ty has said or are we just speculating that Ty would leave regardless if hes a 1st round pick or not?
